Meet Cotton & Cochise! These to go as a pair and will not be separated. Cotton is a 4 yr old mare and Cochise is a 6 year old gelding. He is blind in one eye. The two are gorgeous pasture companions and Cotton is definitely a boss mare with a front club. Both are healthy and are dewormed every quarter.
We will be particular about this adoption. They are a special pair. Sweet, sweet pets and companions.
The pair will be 8OO for both.

JAKE- Gelding up for consideration. We do not receive any background information on the horses that end up in our care. Jake has been with us since January of 2021. He is very gentle and easy to work with. He is a hip pocket horse. Loves people and an easy keeper. As you can see he is very fat now. Teeth look to be in mid to late teens. Would need to be restarted.

So proud of the progress of this big guy. He did not have an easy time before coming to the farm. He had been sickly and had to have lots of rounds of meds to make it through the winter last year.
Now, Maverick has lots of energy and his health issues are under control.
On Target Equine's analysis of his hair revealed his specific problems. We were able to target treat them and get him feeling like he should. He and his pasture companion, Paw Paw, will be up for consideration soon. They will go as a pair, not to be separated.

Im heartbroken. And really have no words. Our friend, adopted family member and horse whisper, Hunter Cutcher, passed away last night in a car accident. He meant more to me and my family than I think he knew. He worked hard everyday with our horses and accomplished more with them than we thought possible. He would talk about his girls. He loved those babies so much. There will be a gaping hole in our daily lives without him. This was the last photo he sent to me this week.

FINALLY! Persephone was healthy enough to be able to have her feet trimmed! It wasn't pretty. Took a lot of ingenuity, but Shannon Daniel was able to get tue job done.

If you need a farrier, Shannon Daniel is amazing. Just like Kyle, Shannon is great with the horses and patient with me. I know I mist drive him nuts but he is kind enough not to say so. 🤣🤣 He keeps our crazy herd trimmed and healthy. And gives me peace of mind.

Eddie just had a trim this week and was a complete brat the entire time. I am working with each one now to be good and stand for him.
I dont think we think about how hard your farrier works. Each time the horse drops their foot, they have to bend over and retreive it over and over again. I don't think I could do that all day long. Shannon has been with us every step of the way since we started this journey.
We appreciate him more than he will ever know.

I just wanted to send a big thank you too J. Kyle Eaton and Kelly Kell for coming out yesterday to work on and adjust a couple of our horses. If you havent used chiropractic for your horses yet, you have no idea how much it really does help them. I know I may be prejudice but Dr. Kyle Eaton is just the best. He is so kind and patient with them and me. Kyle, his wife Kelly and Kelly Kell are dear personal friends of mine. But even if we weren't, I wouldn't trust anyone else like I trust him to treat them. I need a little help today at the farm for about and hour. Persephone is having her feet trimmed and teeth floated. She is such a big girl that we may need some help holding up her head and keeping her steady. Let me know if there is a young man that would like to volunteer.

Persephone-
As some of your know, we had a rough night last night. Persephone was a little colic and had tried to lay down on us. We worked with her through the night. Banamine, water, walking and lots of prayer. This morning she was still a little groggy. But after more TLC, a thorough bath and introduction to some of the horses and her field mate, she is feeling so much better. This mare looks like a happy girl. I know I am.

Persephone- we have had a scare with our new girl tonight. I think that the long ride and whatever she was recently fed has cause a slight case of colic.
She arrived at 6:00pm this evening. At 8:30 we found her trying to lay down. I made her get up and we went for a walk. Between Jeremy, D.J. and myself we walked her till 10:00pm. She was able to go, so I felt a little better about her condition. I drove back out at midnight. She was still standing but I could see that her abdomen was still clenching. I was able to get her to drink more water. But of course, I am still a little nervous. It will be a long night. Please say a prayer for this sweet girl. She has so much more life to live and I want to be able to give her that chance.

For those that are following the story of our latest rescue, she arrived this evening. She is wobbly on her legs from the long ride and has a few sores. Her feet are still in awful shape but that will be corrected soon. Right now she is in the pen until we can treat her and introduce her safely to the herd. She is definitely a gentle giant. Her name is now Persephone. We have another Percheron named Zeus.

BARN RAISING FUNDRAISER- The project for this summer is a new 30' x 41' shelter for the rescues. They need shade for summer and protection from the cold during the winter. The total cost is going to be $10,000 for the foundation to extend the height of the sides, initial frame, roof, sides and stalls. Any amount donated would be greatly appreciate and all funds to directly for the horses. We will have new arrival saturday for recovery. She is a percheron and was a driving horse. Her feet are in awful condition and she has two sores on her hips.
I don't like the name they dubbed her with it the kill pen sale. So we will assigning her a new name.This is your chance to throw a name in the hat. What is your suggestion for this white gentle giant mare?
