Dog Psychology101 Dog Psychology 101 is your educational resource for Natural Dog Behavior: the psychology, language, and innate behavior of our beloved domestic canines.

Our philosophy stems from honoring the dog. This means respecting them as dogs, not people, and recognizing that as canines, they have their own way of interpreting and interacting with the world. Our dogs are not wolves, coyotes, foxes, or any other species of wild dog, and their behavior – while characterized by some similarities – is not comparable to these species. As their human leaders, it’s

our responsibility to step into their world and truly learn to understand them.

“Dogenality” and DNA are also aspects contributing to a dog’s overall being. A dog’s DNA may explain some of their innate instincts and traits, but individual traits, temperament, and other characteristics comprise what we call their Dogenality. Is the dog high-energy or low-energy? Confident or more fearful? What are their natural drives and what is their willingness to please? These are the components that come together to determine exactly who a dog is. Satisfying a dog’s DNA and Dogenality is an important component to nurturing a happy, fulfilled, balanced dog. Natural Dog Behavior revolves around doing so by growing the right relationship between dog and human. This is not about teaching obedience commands nor is it a cookie-cutter technique. Though helpful, commands don’t address more fundamental questions about a dog’s mindset, how they see you and other humans, your role in the pack, and other vital building blocks to a healthy dog-human relationship. Rather, it is a philosophy designed to educate you to be the teacher and leader that your dog always dreamed you would be.

Many people try to talk to their dogs in human like conversation, or even think that dogs remember things the same way that humans do. This simply isn't true. Dogs have no internal dialog in the way that we do. They live in a constant state of observation. They don't remember things that happen until they happen again, and their memories are controlled by how things smell. They can remember where they live, based on how it smells. However, dogs have no ability to think about what has come or what will come like humans do. It's important to remember this when communicating with your dog.

🐾✨ Did You Know? Dogs Live & Learn in the Moment! ✨🐾

Hey, dog lovers! 🐕💖 Ever wonder how our furry friends seem to move so swiftly from one adventure to the next, without holding onto the past or worrying about the future? It's because dogs are masters of living and learning in the moment!

This incredible ability means that our dogs don't dwell on yesterday's scoldings or tomorrow's walks. Instead, they react and learn from what's happening right here, right now. 🌟 This insight is crucial for us as pet parents, especially when it comes to training and bonding. It teaches us the importance of immediate praise and correction, helping our dogs understand and connect with us more deeply.

So, next time you're spending time with your furry companion, remember to embrace the moment just as they do. Celebrate the now, whether it's a training session, a cuddle, or a playtime. It's these in-the-moment experiences that strengthen our bond and make for a happy, healthy dog. 🐾❤️

Let's cherish and learn from our dogs' ability to be fully present. After all, there's no time like the present, especially in the eyes of our dogs!

Treating dogs like humans can sometimes lead us to misunderstand their true needs and behaviors. While it's tempting to share our human comforts and emotions with them, it's crucial to remember that dogs have their own unique ways of seeing the world, communicating, and expressing love.

🍖🚶‍♂️ From their dietary needs to their exercise routines, and even the way they play and interact with other dogs, every aspect of their care should be tailored to suit their canine nature, not a humanized version of it.

Let's celebrate our dogs for what they are - incredible, loyal, and loving animals that don't need to be humanized to earn a special place in our lives and hearts. By understanding and respecting their true selves, we can provide them with the happiest and healthiest lives possible.

Here's to cherishing our wonderful companions just the way they are! 🌟🐾
