Dog Psychology101

Dog Psychology101 Dog Psychology 101 is your educational resource for Natural Dog Behavior: the psychology, language, and innate behavior of our beloved domestic canines.

Our philosophy stems from honoring the dog. This means respecting them as dogs, not people, and recognizing that as canines, they have their own way of interpreting and interacting with the world. Our dogs are not wolves, coyotes, foxes, or any other species of wild dog, and their behavior – while characterized by some similarities – is not comparable to these species. As their human leaders, it’s

our responsibility to step into their world and truly learn to understand them.

“Dogenality” and DNA are also aspects contributing to a dog’s overall being. A dog’s DNA may explain some of their innate instincts and traits, but individual traits, temperament, and other characteristics comprise what we call their Dogenality. Is the dog high-energy or low-energy? Confident or more fearful? What are their natural drives and what is their willingness to please? These are the components that come together to determine exactly who a dog is. Satisfying a dog’s DNA and Dogenality is an important component to nurturing a happy, fulfilled, balanced dog. Natural Dog Behavior revolves around doing so by growing the right relationship between dog and human. This is not about teaching obedience commands nor is it a cookie-cutter technique. Though helpful, commands don’t address more fundamental questions about a dog’s mindset, how they see you and other humans, your role in the pack, and other vital building blocks to a healthy dog-human relationship. Rather, it is a philosophy designed to educate you to be the teacher and leader that your dog always dreamed you would be.

Many people try to talk to their dogs in human like conversation, or even think that dogs remember things the same way that humans do. This simply isn't true. Dogs have no internal dialog in the way that we do. They live in a constant state of observation. They don't remember things that happen until they happen again, and their memories are controlled by how things smell. They can remember where they live, based on how it smells. However, dogs have no ability to think about what has come or what will come like humans do. It's important to remember this when communicating with your dog.

🐾✨ Did You Know? Dogs Live & Learn in the Moment! ✨🐾

Hey, dog lovers! 🐕💖 Ever wonder how our furry friends seem to move so swiftly from one adventure to the next, without holding onto the past or worrying about the future? It's because dogs are masters of living and learning in the moment!

This incredible ability means that our dogs don't dwell on yesterday's scoldings or tomorrow's walks. Instead, they react and learn from what's happening right here, right now. 🌟 This insight is crucial for us as pet parents, especially when it comes to training and bonding. It teaches us the importance of immediate praise and correction, helping our dogs understand and connect with us more deeply.

So, next time you're spending time with your furry companion, remember to embrace the moment just as they do. Celebrate the now, whether it's a training session, a cuddle, or a playtime. It's these in-the-moment experiences that strengthen our bond and make for a happy, healthy dog. 🐾❤️

Let's cherish and learn from our dogs' ability to be fully present. After all, there's no time like the present, especially in the eyes of our dogs!

Treating dogs like humans can sometimes lead us to misunderstand their true needs and behaviors. While it's tempting to share our human comforts and emotions with them, it's crucial to remember that dogs have their own unique ways of seeing the world, communicating, and expressing love.

🍖🚶‍♂️ From their dietary needs to their exercise routines, and even the way they play and interact with other dogs, every aspect of their care should be tailored to suit their canine nature, not a humanized version of it.

Let's celebrate our dogs for what they are - incredible, loyal, and loving animals that don't need to be humanized to earn a special place in our lives and hearts. By understanding and respecting their true selves, we can provide them with the happiest and healthiest lives possible.

Here's to cherishing our wonderful companions just the way they are! 🌟🐾

🌼 Happy International Women's Day! 🌼 Today, as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women across the globe, let's take a moment to honor the legacy of an extraordinary woman whose bravery, determination, and compassion changed the course of history: Harriet Tubman. 🌟

Born into slavery, Harriet Tubman rose above unimaginable adversity to become a leading figure in the fight for freedom. She not only secured her own liberty but also became the conductor of the Underground Railroad, guiding hundreds of enslaved people to freedom with unwavering courage and ingenuity. Tubman's deep sense of justice and her fearless commitment to helping others earned her the nickname "Moses" among those she led to freedom.

Harriet Tubman once said, "Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." Her life is a testament to the power of resilience and the impact one person can have on the lives of many.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, let us draw inspiration from Harriet Tubman's story. Let's honor her and all the women who have fought and continue to fight for justice, equality, and freedom. Let's commit ourselves to the work of making the world a more equitable place for everyone, regardless of gender, race, or background.

To all the incredible women who navigate obstacles and pave the way for future generations: Happy International Women's Day! Your courage, strength, and love light the path toward a better world. 💜

Happy International Women's Day! 🌍💜 Today, as we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women around the globe, I want to highlight a name that might not be as familiar to some, but whose story embodies the spirit of perseverance, courage, and the relentless pursuit of one's dreams against all odds: Cole Brauer.

While Cole Brauer may not be a historical figure like Rosa Parks or a household name in the realm of women's rights activism, their journey represents the countless unsung heroes and heroines who navigate their paths with unwavering determination. Cole's story is one of overcoming challenges, breaking barriers, and setting a shining example of what it means to fight for one's place in spaces not designed for them.

Cole's journey reminds us that every day, women and individuals across the spectrum of gender identity are making strides, big and small, towards a more inclusive and equitable world. It's about the courage to be oneself, the strength to advocate for one's rights, and the resilience to keep going in the face of adversity.

This International Women's Day, let's celebrate not only the well-known champions of women's rights but also the everyday warriors like Cole Brauer. Let's acknowledge the progress we've made and recognize the work that still lies ahead. Let's commit to supporting one another, lifting each other up, and creating a world where everyone, regardless of gender, can pursue their dreams without limitation.

To all the incredible women and allies out there: your courage inspires, your dedication motivates, and your achievements make a difference. Here's to continuing the fight for equality, justice, and empowerment for all. 💪🌸

🌟 Happy International Women's Day! 🌟 Today, we celebrate the indomitable spirit of women around the globe, and we want to shine a spotlight on a figure whose courage and resilience continue to inspire us: Rosa Parks. 🌹

On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks made history by refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger. Her arrest sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a pivotal event in the Civil Rights Movement, led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Rosa Parks' act of defiance wasn't just a moment of personal courage; it was a powerful statement against racial injustice and a call to action for equality and dignity for all.

Rosa Parks once said, "I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear." Her words and actions remind us of the strength that lies in standing up for what is right, even in the face of adversity.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's remember the lessons Rosa Parks taught us. Let's honor her legacy by continuing to fight for justice, equality, and the empowerment of women everywhere. Let's be inspired by her courage to make a difference in our communities and to challenge the status quo.

To all the incredible women who keep pushing boundaries, breaking barriers, and inspiring change: Happy International Women's Day! Your strength, resilience, and achievements make the world a better place. 💪💖

Nothing replaces a WALK! ⬇️

Tools like the treadmill are incredibly helpful to ensure our pups get exercise during our busy lives or unsafe weather, but never underestimate the importance of a true walk. Your dog REQUIRES the connection, the novelty, and the freedom to explore that a walk with YOU provides.

So use your tools, let them help you create balance in your life as a pup parent, but don't let your commitment to your dog's wellbeing fall to the wayside.
