At Wagging Tales, we help promote fellow dog trainers even though they’re “competitors”. Because if I don’t have the resources or I don’t feel that I’m a good fit for a client, I like to know I can suggest others who may be a better fit.

✨ Drop & Train:
• Book a 4-hour training slot on our website.
• Perfect for working on Basic Obedience ($30), tackling Fearful-Reactive behaviors ($45), or building your dog’s confidence in our Confidence Course ($40).
• Need your dog to stay all day? No problem! We’re open until 6 PM.

✨ One-on-One Sessions with Handler:
• Available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8:30 AM or 9:30 AM.
• A personalized hour tailored to your dog’s needs, including Behavior Consults ($45) for more specialized challenges.

Been a bit of radio silence because... *drum roll* I moved residences! My training area is still an 18 mile radius from the Louis Joliet Mall. So I'm still serving the same area!

Pricing!

By appointment only!

Each appointment will include a non-refundable $65.00 assessment fee + $1.50 travel fee per mile. This fee covers a 45-60 minute assessment at your place of residence or mutually agreed meeting place. The travel fee covers gas and mileage for the trainer

What's included in an assessment?
-Meeting your and your pet!
-Discussing what your goals are for you and your pet!
-Discussing plans and setting a meeting schedule that can best suit you and your pet's growth during training!

After the assessment, each sessions is base-priced at $120.00.
Sessions can run from 60-75 minutes. Sessions lasting more than 90 minutes per dog will result in an increase in price. This covers time the trainer is spending at your residence or a mutually agreed meeting place.

For Multi-dog households
2-3 dogs - Sessions can run from 60-90 minutes and cost $175 per dog.

Amount of Sessions will be agreed upon by both trainer and owner.

We will get your furry family member microchipped and register it for you all in one visit! With the upcoming firework season, we see an influx of stray animals that come into the shelter due to loud noises and/or gates being left open. Please share and get your pet chipped so we can help reunite you with your beloved pet

Been a bit since I posted a PSA.

As a dog trainer first and a vet tech second, I often will give your dog a Quick Look over when I meet them just to gauge any issues that I need to be aware of. Such as if they react to touch like a veterinarian might do (touching ears, face, mouth area, rubbing along the spine, touching toes or the tail, etc.) especially if they’re your first dog.

If I notice things like a lump, long toes nails, dirty ears or fur being stained, I’ll ask about it. I am ABSOLUTELY NOT a veterinarian by any means (nor do I plan to become one), but I can notice and point things out to you for you to speak to your primary DVM about. I will never force someone to go to the vet. I politely suggest and am very understanding if time or funds are limited.

This being said…

My PSA today is about ears. Specifically cleaning and grooming of ears. I had a dog come in for a routine spay today. She was longer haired, and about a year old. It was pretty clear she hasn’t been professionally groomed. She wasn’t matted or in disarray. Her hair was clean but long and in need a of a trim, along with her nails.

During the pre-surgical exam performed by my doctor, it was noted her ears were dirty, so we cleaned them.

What we found… a THICK, MATTED, CLUMP of dirt/hair/wax build up that had caused a “plug” in her ears. There was one in each ear. We were able to get them out but we informed the doctor, who informed the owner that regular cleanings will be needed in her ears all her life. And regular plucking if she goes to a groomer.

Please guys, if you have a longer haired dog, or a dog with extremely floppy ears, clean their ears. Otherwise, they’ll may have to have the hair removed, or the build up could cause an infection and then a course of antibiotics or anti-inflammatories.
