It's going to be hot this week, so make sure you keep your pets cool!

🐶🐱 Only allow them out for short bathroom breaks, keep water bowls full 💧, and remember that dogs and cats with shorter noses, like Pugs, French Bulldogs, and Persians, are much more sensitive to high temperatures. 🌡️

Here are some additional tips to keep your pets safe in the heat:

- **Avoid Hot Pavement:** Pavement can get extremely hot and burn your pet's paws. 🐾 Check the temperature with your hand before taking them out for a walk
- **Provide Shade:** Ensure there are shaded areas in your yard or during walks, especially during peak sun hours. 🌳

- **Never Leave Pets in Cars:** Temperatures in parked cars can rise quickly, posing a severe risk of heatstroke. 🚗🔥

**Meet Donut & Stewie!** 🐴❤️ These two adorable miniature horses have found their forever home at our Lockport clinic, where we not only care for small animals but also run our equine clinic. They were lovingly taken in by our Equine Practice Manager, Liz, when their previous owner could no longer keep them. Donut and Stewie are some of the sweetest mini horses you'll ever meet!

**Meet Dr. Ali! 🐾**

On Friday, Dr. Ali was hard at work alongside our entire team at Premier Paws. Dr. Ali has owned Premier Equine for 15 years and recently purchased Timberline Animal Hospital, now known as Premier Paws at Timberline. After a complete remodel, the clinic is absolutely beautiful. She also recently opened Premier Paws veterinary service in Lockport, a stunning new facility connected to her Equine Practice.

Fun facts about Dr. Ali: She has 🐔 chickens, a 🐴 donkey, a 🦆 duck, and her lovely 10-year-old English Pointer, Abby 🐶, who often accompanies her to work. She's also the mom of active 10-year-old twins. 👩‍👧‍👦

Dr. Ali has been a staunch supporter of rescue efforts and Spay Illinois Pet Well Clinics since their inception, remaining actively involved in ensuring all pets have access to veterinary care. 🐾❤️
