Well, we're back in the game with this nice clutch of BEL babies and two more clutches due to hatch in the next 5 days.

With the good comes the bad. We had a devastating loss this morning. The Thermostat probe in our incubator fell into the door track, next to the only air hole in the incubator and was reading only 80⁰. The eggs were 118⁰ according to the temp gun because the heat tape was on full blast all night. We lost 7 clutches and the babies that just hatched and were waiting to shed before putting them in the hatchling rack.

We are beyond crushed by the loss of life and potential life. There are less than a handful of girls we expect to lay sometime in the coming month or so. We will recover, but for now, we will be stepping back from social media for a time.

Thank you to all of our supporters. Many more snakes will be listed up on morph market this week. We will be cutting back and refocusing our efforts. We will be at the Show Me expo in Arkansas next month and we'll be at the Reptilian Nation show in Houston May 18-19th. Please stop by the table to see us if you're at the show.

We had a great time with our friends at National Park College in Hot Springs today for a Friday Lunch and Learn talk. I only grabbed a few photos. Students, teachers & staff, kids, and even one student's mom had a great time learning all about Arkansas venomous species and our wonderful pet ambassadors. I had to grab a photo of the bathroom flyer. We were in every bathroom on campus!! 😎🤣

A couple of cool Mahogany Pied hold back girls were produced last year by a male we got from .reptiles. The pairing will be repeated this season 😎. The first one is Pastel Mahogany Pied and I'm thinking Ghost as well. The second is a very low white Mahogany Pied het ghost that is possibly Harlequin. The male that sired the clutch proved out Harley.

Slackline x Matrix Blood Python clutch, hatched Sept 2021. A couple were in shed, but we took some pictures anyway. These will be on our table at the upcoming expo in Jacksonville, AR.

*NOTE: The Slackline sire is from unknown origins. The female came to me gravid. These will be pri.ced accordingly.

There are a lot of posts on social media from people with snakes that don't seem to want to eat, either from the day they are brought home or they go on a "food strike." There are many reasons a snake can suddenly decide to stop eating or refuse to eat in their new home. We decided to address the most common issues for lack of feeding in a blog post on our website. First Ball Python clutch of the season and boy is it a doozy! 15 eggs and 1 slug from our big double het Hypo Pied girl from Jason Amos. She was bred to a Mahogany dh Hypo Pied possible Harlequin male from PA Reptiles.

Christmas at a snake breeder's house, lol. We're working on the big move tomorrow, getting the rest of the ball pythons in the new snake house, so it's deep cleaning time. Once we get the racks all moved down, we'll tackle the big snakes' cages.

Make sure you do your homework on what your new pet will require for housing, lighting/heating, and feeding before deciding to bring a new family member home.
