Announcement: Three other Breeders and I came together to have our 2nd Annual Select Registered MDR Miniature Donkey Sale in Joplin, Missouri in June 2025. To avoid confusion the sale name has been rebranded the American Heritage Miniature Donkey Sale from the Breeders Classic.
Please like and follow our FB Business Page or join our new Group Page where you will be the first to receive new information. See information below from our Sale sites and print off if interested in consigning to the sale.

We have our Consignment Forms ready and posted below for your review. You will find on the forms our sale criteria, terms and other important information. Print and complete the forms and then send in with the fees, copies of your donkey(s) pedigrees and their current pictures front, back and both side profiles.
All of this information is needed for the sales team review as only your BEST will be accepted to this National Select MDR Registered Sale hosted by the newly established Non-Profit 'Miniature Donkey Heritage Alliance'.
We want you each to know we look forward to hearing from you and we are excited to be able to offer this sale of exceptional Miniature Donkeys from your premier farms all across this country.

The Red Terror, known as Bobby to his mates, was a red chestnut gelding born in New Zealand in 1926 and trained in Sydney by Harry Telford.
His name came from the Thai-Zhuang word for lightning - ‘like a flash on the sky’ - Farlap.

The time has come for my last Jack, whom Stephanie Dove and I were partners, to move on to his new home in Oklahoma. Cyders Dapper Dan, a 2006 model and an own son of the distinguished LN Foxworthy. We were happy to have the opportunity to introduce him to Stephanie and Larry’s jennets to preserve his treasured old lines. He just sired a beautiful spot girl in November. Expecting foals in 2025.

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day:

On Feb. 28th, 1948,the Girls Rodeo Association, forerunner of the Women's Professional Rodeo Association, was formed in San Angelo. The event followed the historic "all-girl" rodeo produced the previous fall in Amarillo. The founders, who met to organize and established goals, determined to raise the standards of cowgirl contests and to protect cowgirls from unfair practices. The WPRA is the oldest organization of women athletes in America. Here we see Girls Rodeo Association competitor Josephine Willis at a 1949 GRA rodeo in Fort Stockton, courtesy Life Magazine. You've gotta love those Texas cowgirls! At least, I do.

My friend Brandy and I came down to Texas to pick up a Jack Stephanie Dove and I own together to take back to Joplin to sale. We also stopped and dropped my gelding off with Bobbie Ferraro for some professional training. (Dan was not making much progress but tried). Here are a few pics of our short visit with Bobbie. Bobbie and Brandy are holding up some Indian dresses Bobbie made including all the bead work. Did she not do a fantastic job.

WANTED: (2) Miniature Donkey Jacks for an International Client. They must be Select Herd-sire Quality. MDR registered, prefers 3-4 yo but would consider a little older. 30-32 inches tall, no bigger.

Today with much sadness I want to announce to all my friends that may not know we lost Jack Steiner, of Rearview Farms earlier this Fall. His loving wife and family are still in the process of learning how to cope without him.
Jack with his wife Linda were involved for many years in the miniature donkey world and were major contributors to our beloved breed. You will find Rearview Donkeys listed in many pedigrees of well known donkeys. Rearview Red Beau made a huge impact on the breed and he was known for his outstanding red color. He was also the Sire of Rearview Red Rock. You will find many of Jack's Rearview jennets in many of our pedigrees. Jacks donkeys all had a distinctive look, and one of their major contributions to the breed was their trademark well rounded big hips that we all so love and breed for today.
As I think about Jack I will miss his positive attitude and his sheer love of his miniature donkeys and the breed. He was so kind and helpful and will be missed by all of us who knew him.
