We are thrilled to have her on board, and we are so excited to introduce her to our clients and referring veterinarians 🥳

Dr. Sparks is from Seneca, SC. She attended Southern Wesleyan University where she earned a BS in Biology while playing basketball for the Warriors. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sparks has a passion for emergency medicine and all things surgery.

Dr. Sparks is excited to be in the Charlotte area with her partner and their five animals. Together, they have 3 dogs – Bear, Honey, and Remi, and 2 cats – Phoebe and Zorro. When she’s not spending time with her pets, Dr. Sparks enjoys spoiling her nephews, hiking, playing tennis, and staying up to date on the world of sports

Our Surgery Room got an exciting new feature this week!

We're immensely grateful to Pet Emergency & Trauma Services for donating a Shore-line V-Top Heated Veterinary Surgery Table!

This table is heated, helping us combat hypothermia, one of the most common surgical complications, and keep our patients at the appropriate body temperature. Plus, it's height adjustable! All these features will allow our Raptor Hospital staff and veterinarians to continue to provide top-notch medical care to patients!

It is National Vet Tech Appreciation Week, and we are so proud of our entire team! Emergency veterinary medicine is demanding - it can be heartbreaking one moment, then heartwarming the next. These ladies and gentlemen do it all. They save lives, solve mysteries, teach lessons, clean up messes, offer a listening ear, and so much more. We could not exist without their hard work every day (and night!)
So if you see one of our amazing team members doing their thing - this week or any week - please show them some love!

Shout out to Liles Construction, Haigler Systems, and Minuteman Press of Concord, NC. These companies have been instrumental and fantastic to work with during our renovation and relocation process. That goes for the staff you meet as well as those you only interact with via email or phone. Highly recommend these local businesses.

Whew! We've officially moved and will open at 5:30 tonight (Thursday) in our new location - and resume our normal hours of operation (5:30p-8a weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and most holidays). We look forward to serving you should one of your pets have an after hours emergency.
We have more space -woo hoo - for the same doctors and staff. That means there's the option to wait in the building instead of your vehicle! Come inside to begin the check-in process.
One question we're often asked is "How quickly will my pet be seen?" There isn't a concrete answer, but we'll do our best to give you an idea. Much like a human emergency room, we triage (assess urgency through assessment) and times vary based on factors such as how critical your pet is and how critical the other patients are, even if those pets arrive after you were checked in with your pet. We hope you don't need us, but are here when you do!

We started moving this morning. That involves a temporary disruption of phones and internet. We should have that back up today. As a reminder, we are closed for business while we move and hope to reopen by Friday at 5:30. We will update you here about reopening.Should you need after hours emergency services, your location will make a difference in the closest emergency services to you. Area options include Charlotte Animal Emergency and Referral in Charlotte; Denver Animal Emergency in Denver; several Carolina Veterinary Specialist locations including Huntersville, Matthews, and Winston-Salem; and Skyline in Matthews is open some weeknights

YES! We are OPEN all weekend for you and your pets! We open as usual tonight at 5:30pm and remain open until 8 am Monday. We are receiving questions so we wanted to clear this up. Our upcoming move is happening, but NOT until MONDAY (Sept 18). We will reopen in the new location as soon as possible and will announce it here. Our phone number remains the same. Alternate emergency options for weeknights next week (depending on where you're located) posted in the comments.
