This week's employee spotlight is on Rainee. She has worked at Pooches for over 3 years and is the youngest member of our Pooches team, but her mature spirit has carried her far. A lover of all animals, by nature, she has an ability to read, understand, and comprehend dog behavior/language far beyond her years. ✨️Her artistic and creative spirit gives her a unique ability to see "outside the box" and often sees challenges as opportunities. As Stacie and Nick's daughter, she undoubtedly has high standards of care, not just in a pack of dogs, but on an individual level as pups spend their days (and nights)with us. When school is out, she spends her breaks and summers at Pooches. She can be quiet and introverted, but when she walks through the door at Pooches, she manifests a personality that our dogs understand. She may speak softly, but, make no mistake, she can manage, control, and oversee a pack of dogs with the best of them. 🐾 ❤️

The employee spotlight is on Jordan this week. Jordan has worked at Pooches for over a year now and brings a wealth of knowledge of dog behavior within our daycare groups and our team. Jordan has a gift of helping our dogs who are having a difficult time due to whatever circumstances they came from to move forward and succeed. Jordan gives them the guardrails to succeed. Structure interweaved with patience is Jordan 's "secret sauce." We are so grateful to have them a part of our Pooches family. ❤️

Structured daycare can be such a game changer for puppies. This allows your pup to learn proper socialization skills, self-regulation of rest and play, builds confidence, your pup learns recall, basic commands, kennel training, and most of all has so much fun and is so loved. ❤️

Summer vacation boarding is already in full swing, so if you have not made your boarding reservations for your pups, this is your reminder.

Helpful tips:

🌞 When packing for your pup, please bring extra food in case of delayed flights or last-minute travel changes. Sealed containers and instructions written in luggage.
🌞 If your pups take medication, please bring detailed instructions and extra in case of travel changes.
🌞 If it has been a couple of months since your pup has been to Pooches, please bring them for a couple of daycare days prior to your long vacation to allow them time to adjust to our schedule and daycare groups.
🌞 Remember, we use outside days, which may include pool days when weather permits - if you would like your dog to smell clean before departure, schedule a boarding exit bath, resort bath, or professional grooming prior to going home.
🌞 Less is more - we provide bedding, blankets when appropriate, etc, so you don't have to pack - but if you would like to provide your own, no problem.
🌞 If you would prefer not to pack anything but your pup🐾, we do provide our dry and wet food upon request.
🌞 Double check your boarding confirmation drop off and pick up dates/times. If travel is delayed, please call, text, or email us as soon as you can so that we can adjust on our end as well.
🌞 If you have an international trip planned, please double-check your emergency contact information on file.

This week's employee spotlight is on Emily. You will find this girl all throughout our facility from the daycare and boarding areas to our front office. She has been part of our Pooches family for over a year now and has not only grown professionally but personally. She is super attentive to all needs of pups and always with a cheerful smile and laughter along the way. If she is not working, you will find her walking the trolly trail with her sweet pup, Indi. 🐾 Em is one of the funniest people we know, and each day, she brings an element of levity that brings our entire team closer together. While she is remarkably serious and passionate about caring for the pups, she never takes herself too seriously. Her enthusiasm is infectious. We are so grateful for her. ❤️

Teamwork makes the dream work. 💜 We are going to be putting a spotlight on our amazing team members for the next several weeks- you will find more about them in our lobby and feel free to write them kuddos on our board. ✨️

This week, we are starting with Lorenzo! This man right here has been with us for over 3+ years and has had so much growth within our business and his personal life. He has such a calming presence about him that our most energetic dogs gravitate towards him. He always goes above and beyond in everything he does...Affectionately known as the "Gentle Giant" he is, and always has been, the Rock of Gabratlar for our team, our clients, and their pups. We are so grateful for his loving spirit. ❤️

✨️Our May dog of the month is Piper! It has been a long journey for Miss Piper as she was originally from a terrible breeder situation where she was forced to have puppies but unable to connect with them. Because of this past trauma- Piper will sometimes get nervous around new people and dogs. The reason she is our dog of the month is because of the progress she has made in spite of this harsh past!

She was adopted by a loving mom and Westie sister Lulu - and has been coming to Pooches regularly since her adoption in November 2023, and our team has only watched her flourish. She has gone from scared of her own shadow to making friends and going into daycare groups with no issues - feeling confident, safe ,and loved. ❤️

If you see Piper and her family in the lobby, be sure to take a moment and say hello! Though Piper may be shy at first, she is an absolute angel, and each person she meets is another step to being more comfortable in her own skin. 🐾

April dog of the month is : Satchmo

He has worked so hard on so many things, but most of all, he has become a role model for our rescue pups and their humans. This boy has perfected leash management, self regulation inside a daycare group setting and is better able to read dog behavior so that he knows proper play. For a pup as high energy as Satchmo this is a game changer. Congratulations to his parents and our entire team supporting him along the way. ♥️🐾 Read his story in our lobby.

Hi! My name is Satchmo. I seem to have fallen in the category of dogs most misunderstood somehow and feel I'm ready to raise awareness.

I get nervous in situations where I can't see dogs or humans fully. ( I got attacked by a dog at a local dog social spot, and it has me still a bit unsettled) I am a work in progress. Trust is hard.

I am a social butterfly with dogs. I love to play but at times get insecure and need reassuring gestures from my human friends. Thank you to my Pooches team for helping me regain confidence and keeping me out of trouble while allowing me to be me. I am still learning.

I am still working on leaving Pooches and not getting protective, so you may see my Pooches front office team members take me to my parent's car. Thank you for understanding and waiting at times for me to get to my car safely.

Thank you most of all to my parents. For believing in me. Getting me training and finding a path we can all grow in so I can live my best life. 💗🐾 If you see me say Hi. I'm just a rescue dog with great parents and a work in progress with a team that loves me.
