Can anyone in the Katy/Houston area take in a large male rat? He’s about 2yo and very very timid and mouthy. He needs some socialization and help relearning interactions with people. Message me for info.

Jinx is ready for adoption!!

One of our resident rats, romeo, had to see the emergency vet today 😞. He rapidly declined today, going from healthy to struggling to breath and lethargic. He is suspected to have heart disease. We are going to try to treat him with medicine, I’ll write the names later when I check. I give him 3 medications 2x daily and another 1x daily for 14 days. I’m really hoping to see improvement soon, but if not euthanasia will be seriously considered, as to not prolong suffering. If he does improve, I will take him to get x-rays done to confirm the diagnosis, so we can treat it properly. Please keep him in your thoughts.

My newest rescue, Jinx! He’s a 5 year old ball python, who is stunted pretty badly. When I picked him up he was very underweight. Now, about one moth later, he has gained weight with regular feedings and is making great strides towards being healthy!

Welcome to the Herp’s Haven page! We are a reptile and amphibian rescue located in Katy, Texas. Reptile have been my passion since I was very young and first held a snake! I have had reptiles as pets for roughly 3 years, and I’ve been studying reptile and amphibian care and health for much longer.
