So much can change in your animal in 90 days! Things can change for the good if you're putting the work in, or they can go downhill just as quickly. So here's what you should be doing around 90 days from your projected show with sheep and goats:
🟣 Keeping track of your animals weight is very important to make sure they are on the right path and where they need to be. Make nutritional and exercise adjustments as needed once you get a current weight and set a goal weight.
🟣 You should be handling your sheep and/or goat multiple times per week to evaluate their fat and muscle status. Handle for muscle over the rack and loin, handle for fat cover over their ribs, right behind their shoulder. Make nutritional and exercise adjustments accordingly.
🟣 Your lamb will need that trendy s**g if you plan to make it to the backdrop! Put some elbow grease into it! If you need help understanding a solid daily routine, refer back to our previous post regarding that subject.
🟣 Your lamb/goat will not perform to the best of their abilities if they're battling internal stress such as parasites or coccidia. Stay up on these items!
🟣 Identify your lamb/goat strengths and weaknesses, then do some research or ask for help to identify which supplements would be the best option to counter their weaker traits.
🟣 Exercise will not change your animal overnight, you have to give both nutritional changes and exercise time to work! So consider implementing an exercise program now, if the animal is ready.
🟣 Showmanship practice at home will lead to a better performance in the ring. Don't skip this step!
Clearance sale!! 🤑 We are discounting items to make room for new and exciting things for y’all!
That's right... the most underutilized show prep product does not come in a tube or a 20lb pail... it comes from the faucet: WATER!
💧When it comes to muscle shape and handling quality, you can't have it without being hydrated. That's why water is the most underutilized show prep product.
💧Drenching prior to and at the show is the best tool to enhance hydration.
💧Need help coming up with a drench program of knowing what to use, how much to give and how often to give it? Reach out to your regional representative who can offer customized advice. We're here to HELP YOU!
