We are thrilled to announce that Luka has found his forever home! We greatly appreciate everyone who truly made an impact on Luka's recovery journey, we couldn't do this without you! With that being said, for the rest of the month, we are rallying together to raise funds for Bartholomew! We suspect that Bartholomew was struck by a vehicle before coming to KAAS. Bartholomew sustained severe injuries to his back end that required surgery. Bartholomew has a long road to recovery and he needs your help!

Whether it's medical bills, rehabilitation, or necessary supplies, every contribution will make a difference in Bartholomew's life. With your support, we can help Bartholomew heal and give him a brighter future. We are hiring for a full-time administrative assistant! Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Working hours are 8am-5pm during the week, 8am-4pm on weekends. Weekend work is required! After a few weeks of bad weather, we know your pets are eager to be outside! Keeping your pet safe and secure is a top priority for any pet owner. Here are some effective strategies to ensure your beloved furry friend doesn't go missing:

🐾Identification Tags:
Ensure your pet wears a collar with an identification tag that includes your current phone number and address.
Consider adding a secondary contact number of a trusted friend or family member.

🐾Microchipping:
Microchip your pet as a more permanent form of identification. Make sure the microchip is registered, and the information is up to date.

🐾Secure Your Home and Yard:
Regularly check your fence for any gaps or weak spots and repair them promptly.
Supervise your pet while they're outside, especially if you don't have a fenced yard.

Kearney Area Animal Shelter

The Kearney Area Animal Shelter was made possible due to the generous donation of gifts, talents, and time of many individuals. Most importantly, $1,000,000.00 was donated by Scott and Cheryl Morris for the construction of a facility that would be capable fulfilling the mission of the Kearney Area Animal Shelter for generations to come.

After a long and careful planning period, the Kearney Area Animal Shelter broke ground on their new facility on June 10, 2005. The site is located on Highway 30, south of Meadowlark Golf Course and east of the Nebraska Department of Roads facility.

The Kearney Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony was held on February 16, 2006 at 4:30 pm. and pet adoptions began Sunday, February 19, 2006.
