We are speechless! Yesterday was huge! TEN cats/kittens found their Forever Homes!!! Bella, Sprout, Sid, Tillamook, Gingerbread, Ella, Kelvin, Onyx, Candy Cane, and Flora all slept in their warm, comfy homes last night and we couldn't be happier.

Please read the latest IMPORTANT bulletin from the Oregon Department of Agriculture, and take extra precautions to protect your indoor cats from the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) H5N1. The link includes a Spanish version of the notice.

Easiest ways to reduce your indoor cat's risk of contracting H5N1:

1. Don't wear your shoes inside your home. This is especially important if you have exposure to wild birds and water fowl outdoors or you (or your neighbors) have backyard chickens, ducks, turkeys or geese. If you handle outdoor birds, wash your hands before handling your cats.

2. DO NOT feed freeze-dried, freeze-dried raw coated, or raw cat food or treats to your cats. There have been confirmed cases of H5N1 in cats in Oregon, these cats were infected by eating contaminated cat food from Northwest Naturals pet food company.

3. Keep your cats indoors and limit their exposure to wild and backyard birds. Outdoor cats are at an increased risk of contracting H5N1.
