We adopted brothers Lucky (black) and Chance (orange) in October 2016 from the Seattle Humane Society when they were about 6 months old. We kept their shelter-given names. They'd both been treated for serious upper respiratory infections. SHS performed a double enucleation on Chance (resulting in complete blindness) because his infection was so severe. His blindness doesn't slow him down one bit.

In fact, he often gets the better of his sighted brother. We've lovingly dubbed them The Probability Brothers. They like to climb everything and wrestle from precarious heights. Lucky is the sweetest love bug and always wants to cuddle. He also loves to chase the laser dot. And Lucky escapes Chance's relentless play fighting by sitting like a statue up on the front windowsill. Chance loves to jump, twirl, and pounce. One of Chance's favorite things to do is play fetch with his cellophane balls, often up and down the stairs. As you can see in the current cover photo, they also both like helping with the laundry.

This guy has had a rough few months. Chance had lost several pounds and stopped grooming himself. He was diagnosed as hyperthyroid in July and underwent an iodine radiation treatment at the Feline Hyperthyroid Treatment Center. He’ll have a follow up in a few weeks and then again in a few months to see if the condition has been reversed. But, he’s been caught grooming himself this week (and it shows in his coat as pictured) and he wants to snuggle again. Just hoping he realizes he won’t get fed on demand forever.

It’s been awhile since mom had the violin out. Apparently she needs some practice as the Brothers demanded cuddles and Wednesday just hid under the couch. 😉😹
