Something simple I want to bring to the table, there are many ways to pick a scammer out when purchasing a puppy, but some scammers are very very good at their job, so when it comes to purchasing a dog a deposit is required to hold said puppy that you are interested in, if the seller is willing to FaceTime meaning they are willing to show their face, the puppy in which your interested in and talk with you on FaceTime then they aren’t a fake, a scammer may FaceTime you but won’t share their face, won’t show you the puppy in the camera, or they just altogether won’t FaceTime. If the deal sounds to good to be true, then 10 times out of 10 it’s fake. Nobody is selling expensive breed dogs for cheap unless it’s either a scam or a puppy miller. When going to send money to someone check them out! Does the Seller have references? Does the Seller have an actual Facebook profile meaning a Facebook that wasn’t just created yesterday or a newer account. Is Seller willing to do FaceTime? But most importantly is Seller willing to meet up in public to get the deposit? Also When a Seller is willing to work with you, absolutely don’t waste their time. A deposit is put in place to hold the puppy for you, NO puppy can be Held for a person even if you’re just asking it to be held a day longer, that’s what the whole reason is for a deposit in the first place, if a puppy is posted and you ask seller to hold that puppy for another day and have not put a deposit down and someone else comes along and puts a deposit down on that puppy then you CANNOT be mad at the Seller, it would completely be on you for missing out. Sellers do not hold puppies because of people trying to waste their time. Our jobs as Breeders are to raise good quality puppies, love them, care for them, give them proper vetting and socialization skills and then find them a new GOOD home at time of pickup. If you’re dealing with a legit Breeder, but still choose to waste their time then it’s completely on you said buyer for wasting time on putting a deposit down. Always check out the Seller, but ALWAYS know that when the seller is legit they will not just hold a puppy for you until the puppy has a deposit. When the Deposit is placed, a contract signed, a deposit receipt given, THEN that puppy has your name on it and will go home with you at pick up time AFTER the rest of the money is placed in hand. If you show up at pickup with less money then what is due then that puppy will not go home with you. Don’t try to scam or play a breeder, by thinking you can short said Breeder at pickup/delivery time. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk
