Orange’s story is one for the books! His current family first noticed him roaming their neighborhood before the recent snowstorm. Compassionate and patient, they had been feeding him for a while and finally managed to catch him to bring him in for a check-up. While here, we discovered Orange has a microchip—and what we found out next amazed us all! Orange started his life over 4,000 miles away in Hawaii. As a kitten, he was part of a litter sent to the mainland for adoption. We learned that Hawaii has a significant population of feral cats, and organizations often work to give kittens better chances by relocating them to stateside shelters. Orange was adopted here, but somewhere along the way, he ended up roaming the streets. Thanks to his microchip and the dedication of his new family, Orange now has the second chance he deserves. His story reminds us of the incredible journeys our furry friends can take—and the importance of microchipping our pets to ensure they always have a way back to their people.

Our patient is Archie. When Archie’s mom noticed he was vomiting multiple times and acting unusually sad, she knew something was wrong. She immediately brought him in to see Dr. Marchal, and her quick action made all the difference! An ultrasound revealed a localized area in his intestine that was very painful and showed a circular foreign object. Poor Archie needed exploratory surgery. What did we find? 🧸 A squeaker from a toy! Thanks to his mom’s quick thinking and our team’s care, Archie is now on the mend and recovering comfortably at home with his loving mom. 💕

Our patient is Moby, the sweetest 6-month-old kitty! He came in for his neuter surgery, but on arrival, his mom told us he’s been battling a stuffy nose and squinty eyes. Dr. Fraser found out Moby has a viral infection that can worsen with stress. So, she decided to wait on his surgery until he feels better! It's important to always share as much information as possible so we can make the best decisions for them. Moby got some medicine, and we hope he feels better soon! Once he’s back to normal, we’ll do his neuter. Get well soon, Moby! #

Getting your pet accustomed to nail trims early is one of the best ways to ensure they remain stress-free and comfortable during grooming as they grow. As you can see, Rusty is chilling for his nail trim. Regular nail trims are essential for your pet's health and comfort, and starting this routine young helps them view it as a normal and positive part of their lives. Here are some tips to help:
🐾Begin Early: Introduce nail trims when your pet is a puppy or kitten.
🐾Positive Reinforcement: Use treats, praise, or toys to create a positive association with the process.
🐾Gentle Introductions: Just handling their paws and getting them used to the clippers or grinder can make a big difference.
