Happy New Year!
-Bathing A Dog Properly-
1. Clip your dog’s nails before bath time. Long nails make it harder for dogs to have a good grip in the bath. And put a towel down in the tub or shower for good grip too.
2. Brush your dog's hair before and after bathing. It’s best to get rid of any excess dead hair before shampooing. Brushing your pet’s hair will also get rid of any matting and tangles before washing, making it a much easier and more pleasant experience for you and your dog.
3. Gently place cotton balls inside the ears before bathing. One of the things that dogs hate the most is getting water in their ears.
4. Wash your dog in lukewarm water - no more than 98.6°F. Always check the water temperature before wetting your dog. What feels warm enough on our skin tends to be over 100.4°F, and this is in fact too warm for your dog’s skin. Water temperature over 98.6°F can increase your pet’s heart rate too much, causing a strain, especially for puppies and older dogs.
5. Avoid getting water in the nose. It is important to tenderly wet your dog’s face to avoid not only the eyes, but avoid getting water near the nose. The best way to do this is by tilting the head up, and closely monitoring the nose. If too much water enters they are at risk of choking.
6. Dog shampoo isn’t always vital, you can opt for tearless shampoos, especially for young puppies. These are usually sulfate and paraben free, making them the perfect tear-free formula to wash your dog with.
7. Scrub the hair in the direction the hair grows, to avoid ingrown hairs, which could lead to bumps in the skin.
8. Always spray dog with low-pressure water, to avoid injury and messy splattering.
10. Gently hold the back of the neck to limit your dog shaking off wet water. If your dog is about to shake off all the bath water, before you have had a chance to wipe them down with a towel, simply hold the back of the neck and apply a small amount of pressure. This makes it impossible for them to shake their head, however their tail may shake a little.
When you bathe a dog, helping them feel fresh and clean is just the start. You can also check on their skin and body, spot fleas and ticks, skin irritation, ...

Take Note
Toxic yard items are more common than one would think. While most pet owners allow their dogs to spend time outdoors, are you aware of the dangers in your yard.
Might I say that while Litter Robot may be on the expensive side, it is pretty amazing and well worth it.
Don't know how it works? Watch the vid to find out: https://youtu.be/jBTehdwZEUA
I do believe the cost is around $700 when all said and done- so yes, expensive, but I'd say worth it for what it does and what you no longer have to do.
Cats always have a clean box too!!
A new app I discovered: called SEEK

Needed to be lifted over the curb to go on it's merry way.
Was feisty at first, but accepted the help.
I hope everyone is having a nice Memorial Day.
I've been going since the crack of dawn. Most notable today: breaking up a nasty fight between to housemates, and crimping new terminals onto a battery to be wired into a rapid-beeping 'low-batt' alarm.
Nothing I can't handle.
You might be wondering: I started video immediately, and as I was following them to where they stopped chasing each other. I was actively breaking up the fight from the very beginning, and got aggressor outside in 1.5min. The 'pics' are screenshots from the vid

It was one of those days-
Puppy pees in the house before I get him outside.
Then the handle snaps clean off the rickety old sliding patio door at another house.
Then, on first visit, I find the cat outside at the next house, when she's supposed to be inside.
As far as the door goes-
I have the tools and know-how to fix the underlying issue; the track needed to be cleaned of all the years of built-up gunk, then whute lithium greased.
If you don't have a spin brush drill attachment, they are very useful!

Will I clean your hummingbird feeders if I see that they're moldy? Yes I will.
Never use store-bought red nectar; the dye slowly kills them. Mold causes fungi on their tongues that can kill them too.
Make your own nectar: 4 parts tap water (heated, not even to a boil) to one part refined white sugar (any other type of sugar is harmful).
Baby brush from walmart works well to clean the feeders.
Use the tray feeders; they are the easiest to maintain.
