Looking to get rid of all of our young chameleons. We have 9 or 10 adolescent males and another 15, 3-4 month old babies. I can give y’all 3 medium reptibreeze cages, 2 small reptibreeze, 1 large reptibreeze, and 16 nanobreeze cages, 4 single bulb 48” t5 fixtures with Arcadia 6% bulbs.

Have you ever wondered how a chameleon changes color? The more I learn about these unique creatures, the more I’m amazed by them.

“In 2015, scientists at the University of Geneva discovered two layers of specialized cells lying under the creature’s hide that were loaded with tiny nanocrystals—the key to a chameleon’s color-changing prowess.

The name of the game is reflection. When a male panther chameleon is relaxed, the cells containing its crystals are held closely together. In this position, they reflect blue light, which—when filtered through yellow skin pigments—makes the animal look green. Somehow, chameleons can expand and reduce the distance between those nanocrystals. By spreading them farther apart, the reptiles cause their crystals to reflect yellow or red light. The skin’s apparent color then changes accordingly.”

✨ CHAMily tree ✨

When deciding to breed chameleons, we wanted to know the Dam & Sire's bloodline. Pictured on the left side of the column on the family tree is our Dam's Sire (Opal's dad) and pictured on the right side of the column is our Sire's Sire (Miyagi's dad).

Both have strong yellow body blue bar (YBBB) bloodlines. 💛💙

We will continue posting pictures of the babies as they grow and their color starts to prove out.
