When Eva arrived at the care of Paws Humane, their rescue team quickly found Eva had an old fracture in her elbow and was unable to use her affected leg. To relieve her pain she required amputation. The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was able to provide a medical grant for Eva’s medical care and we are so happy to see she’s healed up well and continues to be her happy and loving self. 💛

Kay is a Camp Counselor at Camp Bow Wow in Grand Rapids, joining in February 2024. With a love for dogs, Kay's experience includes dog ownership and sitting. She enjoys meeting new dogs and their unique personalities. At home, she cares for 8-year-old Havanese Cedar and shares his playful nature. Kay's hobbies include reading, music, roller skating, and writing. Congrats, Kaylie! ❤️

There *is* some truth to the belief that dogs are a good judge of character. Research has shown through their keen sense of smell and skilled read on human body language and cues, dogs will sometimes use that information to form an opinion of a person. A dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than humans. These heightened senses allow dogs to smell the pheromones that evoke the human mood which also helps dogs pick up good and bad behaviors of a human.
