Round 1 is in the incubator! This is the very first round in the new incubator. This one holds 6 times the amount our old ones held… we never dreamed this big when we started. We owe that thank you to all of you who had your birds sourced through us.
This round consists of splash marans, olive eggers, & silkies. There’s should be a few silkies left in this hatch not spoken for!

Let’s introduce the breed. Here’s Mr.Beautiful, he’s a splash maran and he knows he’s magnificent. His ladies are on the shy and timid side. So you would have guessed slightly correct, it’s still a maran.
We’re kickin off fall incubating with their eggs and I am beyond excited.

If you read through the breed list you’d probably say this egg comes from the French black copper marans…..SURPRISE (again). That answer would be incorrect. There’s a new one. ☺️😉

All the sunflowers and broom corn I planted around the aviary got destroyed these past weeks for the build of another aviary.
SURPRISE! This one isn’t for quail. (Or chickens but I think that obvious)

Generally all my chickens I keep are for my breeding programs with the exception of some. I have 5 of these girls that just didn’t make the cut.
Pullets, 16 weeks old, will start laying within the month.

It’s time for me to start my fall round of chickens. With that we have some exciting news to come out soon & some clean out of birds. ☺️☺️

We’re done incubating quail for 2024. Thank you all for your orders!
Now it’s time we sell the breeders from this year, there is about 80 birds in the pen.

The first nap post hatch. I wouldn’t know what to do with my legs either if I just popped out of a crammed egg.

I guess we all get a little impatient sometimes. This lady decided waiting for her turn to free range was just not in the cards for her today.

Free ranging is something that is important for me to allow my hens to do. However, they all have to take turns so I can ensure pure breeds. This is my only run without a roof which is why they’re not breeders. They’re strictly for eating eggs.

Our Bobwhite hens are heavy into laying season! Leaving us able to sell some hatching eggs. Message the page if you’re interested.

In the right setting bobwhites lay year round, meaning climate controlled. Ours live in a habitat mostly natural like they’d get in the wild.

The fresh chicks got to take a field trip to Brennex’s Easter party at school! Letting other children get the experience brings so much joy because that was the reason the poultry journey began.
Everyone got to go home with their very own chick, obviously the fake wind up ones! Although they tried to convince me into the live ones.
