Longshot’s fitness journey

Longshot was fairly overweight a few months ago, he has successfully gone down to his ideal weight of 65lbs with the help of our DogPACER treadmill, regular hikes, and a quality diet plan with his veterinarian and our trainer! If you need some help with your pup’s fitness goals, give us a call! We can incorporate regular exercise goals into your board and train package and get your baby as healthy as this beautiful boy!

Puppy training

Never too young to start laying a good foundation! Five minute puppy play sessions are a great way to introduce your new baby to concepts like “sit” and “place”! Magenta absolutely loves her short “work” sessions each day, and she earns her kibble. Labs are notoriously fond of food, hence her extreme enthusiasm!

We get real excited about Barkbox deliveries around here!

Don’t believe it when you hear “Huskies can’t be trained, Huskies can’t be off leash, Huskies can’t be taught to not chase the cat!” Tempest was a terrible cat chaser, fence escaping, neighborhood wanderer. Even the dreaded Husky is capable of reform! Training is for all breeds, guys!

Miss Xena is just starting her treadmill fitness routine, and with young dogs, I start very slowly. She, being a Pyrenees, is happy to oblige with the slow motion walk. She loves her treadmill time on these nasty rainy days, and as always, she is in no rush!

It’s been awful and rainy, thankfully the dogs don’t seem to mind getting wet as much as I do! Training must go on, rain or shine! Today Kylo and I worked in the carport with lots of distractions, look what a fantastic job he did!

Kylo is enjoying his first walk on the dogPACER treadmill. We do lots of sniffy walks and training walks, but I also like to utilize the treadmill for conditioning and extra exercise when my asthma is flaring up. Kylo took right to it, he’s a natural! Remember, start short and slow when putting a new dog on the treadmill. It’s easy to overdo it! And always, always supervise.
