It’s been a grind, but the team has hit 100 successful recoveries! These are all deer that would have most likely been left in the woods or required extensive searches. The easy ones are thrown into a different category. Still a lot of season left to go and I couldn’t be more proud of how the dogs are working this year!

The Rut rush is about half way over! And what a year it’s been! We started off slow, and many deer alive/nonfatal. Then came October. Both dogs were hot during and after the youth hunt and we haven’t looked back! Kylie and Sizzle have been splitting tracks this year so Kylie doesn’t get overworked. The future of Red Dog Recovery looks very bright because Sizzle has been doing some great work. We are proud of our pups!

Calls have been slow with this heat, but we did end up going 2 for 2 during the youth season! Congratulations to all the young hunters that were able to harvest!

What a great start to the 2024 hunting season! Feeling blessed to bring back a great velvet buck from out west. The boys approve as well!

Starting off the New Year on the right foot! We had the perfect opportunity to get Sizzle some training and she rocked it! This little pup is going turn into quite the tracking dog!

Happy Thanksgiving from the Red Dog Recovery crew! We have so much to be thankful for. We have taken more tracks and have recovered more deer than ever. Kylie has also surpassed 50 career recoveries a few weeks ago. And finally everyone has managed to stay healthy this year! Calls are slowing down, but we will be back at it tonight!

We put some good ones on the tailgate today!

First track was a bloodless leg hit that we were able to locate and back out with Kylie. The hunter could then put finishing shot on a beautiful 13 point buck. This is our first leg hit that we were able to recover without property issues.

Second track was a stomach hit that the coyotes got to first.

I would like to thank both hunters for calling first before they pursued these deer. It made our jobs much easier!
