Happy holidays everyone! Santa Paws brought little man a few new toys, two blankets, a new orthopedic bed, and snacks. We spent New Years Eve taking naps and today we are easing into the New Year.

Started using the small peanut ball today to help support little man while he learns to position his feet. He was having fun bouncing when he turned to look at me. I think he may have been surprised to see his feet on the ground. He is such a cutie ❀️🐢 thanks to everyone who purchased items off the Amazon wishlist! Rocky really appreciates the support and so does his momma!

Hey all, we just got back from a follow up with the neurologist. He is doing better! He has gained 5 pounds and is taking baby steps. The neurologist is concerned that he may plateau. Also what we initially thought was normal puppy play and teething behavior might be a bit more aggressive. The neurologist thinks it is resulting from him being frustrated. He has another follow up tomorrow to look at his back left leg. His joint is swollen and may also be infected. After that he will have a follow up in 4 weeks to assess how much he has progressed. In full transparency, if he plateaus we will have to consider humane euthanasia. We are still holding out hope that he will continue to progress. We will continue to do our all for him in the next four weeks and work with him towards his success.

Hey all! Creed came home Friday night. We are still waiting on the full results to come in. However, what we do know is that the left side of his brain is smaller than the right. Also the muscles behind his left eye are smaller. We are not sure what caused this. The numerologist is almost certain it is from a birth defect and not trauma. He also has a terrible ear infection and is currently on antibiotics and steroids. He has a follow up appointment in two weeks.

Currently he seems to be doing much better! He is standing on his own again. He has even started leaping! Granted he is still very wobbly so when leaps into my lap it is more of a tackle that results in us both toppling over. Also he loves drinking water from the shower. ❀️🐢

I did create a gofundme to help cover the cost of his MRI, spinal tap, and stay with emergency. If you are able to, please consider donating and sharing the link. If you are not able to donate that is perfectly ok. Please keep praying and sending good vibes our way. I also created an Amazon wish list.

Both links are below:

I’m including screenshots of his vet bills. Also two photos of Creed: a photo of him the night he went into emergency and another of him eating dinner tonight.

Hey all, Creed’s new mama here. I just wanted to give a quick update. Creed is spending the night at the emergency clinic. They want to run some test, and observe him. Additionally, they want to prep him for a MRI. Currently the neurologist is booked this entire week, but she is going to try to squeeze him in tomorrow. Hopefully he is able to get the MRI he needs to let us know what our next steps will be. He is not in the clear yet, but please keep sending prayers and well wishes. He needs all the support he can get. We are not going to give up on him. He is a fighter and as long as he wants to fight we will be here with him. ❀️πŸ’ͺ🐢

I want to heavily apologize to everyone for not posting updates lately. I have had several stressers thrown at my life lately and have been struggling to keep my head above water. I had hoped that I could get through them relatively quick, however that has not been the case. In that time, I have only been able to really devote my time, money and energy into my animals and baby at bare minimum. And of course Creed requires a lot more care on a regular basis which i have been unable to do the past couple of weeks. Due to me being unable to take him to the last 2 rehab sessions or Acupuncture appointment, and not being able to do therapy at home, he has taken a step back in progress. He is going to a new home today to a wonderful lady who works from home and is capable of taking him to rehab TWICE a week (same location)!! I hope to have her take over this page to hopefully keep everyone up to date on him for a little bit anyway. And I will be shutting down my gofundme and Amazon wish list. If the new owner chooses to create her own, then that will be up to her. I am passing on his items with him, so rest assured that they still belong to Creed!

I am truly heartbroken that it has came to this, but am eternally grateful for everyone who has committed to helping and supporting Creed like I did! And your help has definitely helped me! Had I not of had drastic events happen in my life, then I would still be keeping Creed. But it is just too much right now and he deserves more than I can offer at this point in time ❀ And I have made sure that he is going to someone else that will commit to him equally as much! So just know that he is still fighting!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM CREED!! Watch as he walks, unassisted to the front if his kennel! He does this a lot since moving him to this one 😁 I believe that he is capable of doing this great outside of it as well, though I think he mentally gets overwhelmed and nervous about not having "support" around him (unlike the kennel feeling enclosed) so he struggles a lot more. We have to build his confidence that he can do it on his own!

I've been asked if I am a licensed rescue. My answer is no, no I am not. However locally I might as well be πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I JUST saved this poor rat who was running at large and scared. Home owners who saw it caught her but didn't know if she was friendly. I then volunteered to come take her and ensure she is cared for. She was hot, starving, and her tail is half cut off. But she is the sweetest thing! I used to be considered the "crazy rat lady" back in high school, so I had to help! Though due to every other animal I have to care for, I asked some friends who used to own a pet store if they would take her in, and of course they were open arms! So I will not be keeping her, but would have done so if they had declined to provide her a wonderful home!

I enjoy ensuring that animals are cared for and nursing them back to health, despite not being an actual rescue or having a veterinary degree. I grew up on a hobby farm, volunteered at a pet store for over a year, volunteered at a vet clinic a few times, broke horses, raised rats, rescued and rehomed mini pigs, worked with my mother owning a pet boarding business, and have owned a large variety of animals myself throughout my 25 years of life. I do not know everything, but I have always strived to learn everything I could about animals! Everything from training to their health. I am eager to learn and to grow. And somehow, opportunities like Creed, Scooter (2 legged pig who is pictured below,) and this rat are just small examples of what has came my way from people who have trusted me to do what is best for these sweet souls! I have always been non-profit and I have NEVER asked anyone for help in my rescue situations before as I have always taken pride in knowing that I wouldn't take on an animal that I can't afford to care for myself. So please know that Creed is a special case, and it has been extremely tough to reach out to the public for every form of support imaginable! But you guys have proven to me that it was worth it, and that Creed is worth it! He is by far the most complex animal I have ever taken on, and I question myself often whether I am truly the right person to care for him. But his progress speaks for itself, and everyone's support helps me get through those tough days πŸ₯° I have no doubt that there are better "resources" out there to care for him, but then what happens to him? Would these rescue places just put him down when the money starts adding up? Would they eventually rehome him when he is better to someone who hasn't been there for him every step of the way? There are so many unknown questions that I have, and it is common practice that once you "surrender" and animal to a rescue, you will legally have no rights to know what happens to the animal thereafter. I can't accept not knowing. And I know where my dedication and determination are, and how hard I plan to push to get Creed where he needs to be to have a good life! I know that he would remain with me for as long as I can offer him my roof over his head. I know that I care enough to share his journey with others so that anyone who is following will also know what happens to him. The good and the bad. Regardless how long or short his life may be. So I know that I am not the most experienced "rescue" option for a case like his, but sometimes the most experienced are not necessarily the "best" options.

Creed has a new and improved kennel! It has room for improvement, so any and all suggestions to make it better are welcome πŸ₯° I would like to start by getting more pool noodles to double up under the pillows. And I need to find Scotchgard to spray the cases with to waterproof them (apparently the local Walmart did not have any.) I am also considering a rubber mat to keep him from slipping when the kennel gets wet. Other critiques are appreciated!

Look! At! This! This is Creed enjoying his new kennel! He has more room, and still has cushion to protect him when he looses control. But his energy 😍 It is contagious, I must say!!

Feel free to share his posts! Don't be afraid to spread his contagious optimistic, energetic, heart-filled light! He doesn't let his disability stop him from being full of love and joy ❀

Several people have recommended that I create Creed his own Amazon Wish List for people to have another option of contributing. I have been unsure of what to add to the list, however had a small start of "possible" things. I ensured that with this list, anyone can add their own items to the list that I do not have on there, but still allows you to have access to my address for shipping. Therefore if anyone has extra ideas of things they think would be beneficial, you are more than welcome to let your minds go wild!

Currently, I think that a rubber mat is our priority concern now that Creed has a new and improved kennel! The post of him enjoying his pen will be updated soon 😁 He is already doing a lot more standing and moving which means it will increase our process the more he is activating those parts of his brain! He just starts slipping a lot when he spills his water 😬

Now that Creed's page is starting to grow with supporters, I would just like to give a run down on all of the medical stuff that we have been through in the past 5 weeks. This is why every ounce of emotional support, mental support, and even financial support means the world to us right now! I was not expecting to take on such a complicated case, and even when I did, I was expecting to have to just invest in putting him down believing that he wouldn't have a chance at life. But now, as you can see, I am fully invested in doing everything that I can- that WE can- to beat the odds and make him a functional dog by the time it is all said and done! On top of Creed, I also have his sister (the original reason I drove to Iowa for a puppy) along with a boxer, a mastiff, 2 mini pigs (Scooter is a 2 legged pig, so also requires Chiropractic and Acupuncture,) 3 horses (one which also requires Chiropractic,) as well as a 10 month old baby girl. At this point in time, I am financially supporting all of these sweethearts on my own while maintaining a full time job as a welder/fabricator. I have had to miss a lot of time from work to tend to these vet appointments which also impacts how much I can spend on Creeds therapy methods. Every donation, including bedding for his kennel (towels or small blankets) or small/soft toys/treats that maybe you already have makes a huge impact to his cause! At the very least, please feel free to share his page and his story to create more awareness! The ever growing love and support will definitely play a huge role in helping us overcome the stress that we encounter on our overwhelming days ❀ Thank you, again!

5/30/23 ($145): First emergency vet bill to have him be evaluated for his condition after coming home with me. Vet told us he had damage to the Cerebellum and that he had no chance at life and to put him down. (I planned to do so the next day, but that night something flipped inside me and said "not yet. We have to fight for him.")

6/6/23 ($165): Second evaluation as well as his routine vaccines. This vet said as long as he is making progress and is happy, he is worth fighting for. He also concluded damage was to the Cerebellum AND Midbrain.

6/10/23 ($470.63): This was supposed to be our first day at rehab. Ended up with a large abscess which rushed us to the ER instead.

6/14/23 ($271.19): Emergency bill for the abcess again. He finally saw the neurologists this time and they concluded he had damage to the Cerebellum, Midbrain, AND Forebrain.

6/19/23 ($72.30): First appointment with "primary vet" to establish client relationship and to be cleared of the abcess to resume rehab therapy.

6/24/23 ($50): First rehab session!

6/27/23 ($140): First Acupuncture appointment!

7/1/23 ($50): Second rehab session!

This equals out to $1,364.12 so far. Let's hope that we do not encounter any more unexpected bumps in our road and can stay on a clear path of recovery, where the expenses can be maintained.

Rehab Day 2 βœ” !!

This morning before rehab, Creed showed me the BEST progress yet! While outside, SEVERAL TIMES he stood on his own for like 10-15 seconds, would start to stumble then he would CATCH HIMSELF and stand a bit longer before he would lose balance and fall down. This is WONDERFUL to see and SUPER exciting!!! πŸ˜πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡ I wish I caught it on video!

Here is Creeds video of his first therapy day! It has been advised that I purchase my own peanut balls and vest to do some exercises at home. Any contributions to go towards this extra expense would be greatly appreciated! The items have already been purchased, but the GoFundMe is available. His weekly therapy appointments are $50 each and are 1.5 hour drive each way to attend.

Saturday we will be trying again to have our first rehabilitation therapy appointment! Last time he was set to do therapy, however that morning he ended up having a severe abscess that came about, which had set us back 2 weeks before we were cleared to try again. Keep your eye out for an update on this adventure!
