I am so honored and humbled to have received the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society's Copper Star Award for service to veterans. I thank the Society for the award and Pat Farrell of Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council for the nomination. Also, I appreciate Pat's acceptance of the statute in my stead since I was unable to travel to Phoenix for the event this past Friday.

While I receive this as an individual, it is a reflection of the many colleagues, organizations and volunteers who collaborate to initiate and implement myriad programs and projects that support our veterans. We are blessed in Kingman for the many people dedicated to ensuring our veterans have opportunities to enrich and live their best lives. I share this award with each of them.

I will share links to the program when available; the link to my acceptance video is: https://vimeo.com/694475077

With sincere regret I must withdraw as a candidate for re-election as Mayor. Health issues have arisen that preclude me from running for another term. I intend to complete this term which concludes in
December 2022.

I would like to thank my friends and supporters. We have come a long way together and I know our collective vision will continue. For those who have been collecting signatures to place me on the August 2nd ballot and for those who have signed electronically, thank you . You have my gratitude always for your friendship and your efforts on my behalf.

On an uplifting note, I am happy that Vice-Mayor Ken Watkins is announcing his candidacy for Mayor. He has my full support and endorsement. Having worked with him for four years now, I know he is a man of integrity dedicated to the best outcomes possible for our city. I withdraw from the campaign with a lighter heart knowing that the Vice-Mayor is a candidate who has an excellent understanding of the city issues, experience leading in Council and continues to be a strong contributor
to our community.

I encourage those who have signed the petitions for me and/or planned to vote for me to offer your support to Ken Watkins for Mayor.

A number of people have become aware of "The People's Convoy" that is scheduled to "drop down in Kingman" some time on Wednesday according to their released schedule. Our City Manager informs us that the city's Police Dept. has been working with event organizers, the County's Sherriff's Department, State police agencies and others to plan for the event. Our Public Works Team is coordinating with ADOT to deal with traffic control and signage. The goal is to get all trucks in and out of Kingman in an orderly and safe manner.

At this time, it is not known how many trucks will be coming to Kingman or where they will park. The event organizers have not been able to secure any locations as of this morning. The winter storm warning is complicating this issue. The city is making plan to deal with that as well.

This Airbnb Airstream RV park will be a great asset downtown. Not only will it improve a downtown area that has been undeveloped, it will attract to short term visitors who can stay in an attractive, Rt 66 appropriate vintage park while enjoying our local sites and amenities. Thank you to Lenore Knudtson and her team for designing and developing such a great concept.

Kingman City Council approved a text amendment in the city code for recreation vehicle parks that would allow for a proposed Airbnb Airstream RV park consisting of refurbished campers.

Support for Re-election as City of Kingman Mayor:

Friends, as has been announced, I am running for re-election as Mayor this year in order to continue championing our city and moving forward with critical Council priorities and projects. At this time, I need the support of City of Kingman residents who are registered to vote and willing to sign a petition nominating me to be on the August 2nd Primary Election ballot. This year, 278 signatures are the minimum required.

Good news - this is the first year that candidates for municipal offices can utilize the on-line petition portal to collect signatures. It is relatively painless. I have a candidate portal with a unique link below that will take you directly to the petition. There, you will give basic information, name, Driver’s License and date of birth. It will then allow you to access the petition and electronically confirm that you want to sign and nominate me for the ballot. This is not a vote for the office. It is support to get my name on the ballot.

If you are a Kingman resident and registered to vote, I would greatly appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to go on-line and electronically sign.

The link to my nominating petition is: https://go.azsos.gov/r955
