Spirit is feeling much better these days. She’s had a couple set backs but she is on the mend. She goes in for follow up x-rays here in the next week and we will see how her healing is progressing.
Little Miss Spirit is in great “spirits” this morning!!!!
**ATTENTION APPLICANTS**
If you previously submitted an application and were approved to adopt please read this:
If you were approved to adopt thru ECGGR and you notified us following approval to move your application to HOLD due to schedule change, change of heart in adopting at that time, etc Please understand, we will likely not reach back out to you to adopt in the future. YOU will need to reach back out to us when you are ready to adopt. Although applications are kept on file for a year, we do not go back and recontact applications placed on hold by the approved applicant.
Why do we do this? We are an all volunteer run organization and we get dozens of applications every single day, we don't have the ability to go back and sift thru applications placed on hold and we certainly cannot read your mind and know when you are ready to add a dog to your household.
What will we do? We will from this point on message applicants that are approved when their one year approval window is coming up, to let them know their application will be discarded. At that time, WE WILL NOT have the ability to go back and look at your application. Once it is gone, it is gone, and you will have to go back thru the approval process again(this includes a new app, application fee, reference check, and a follow up home visit).
Why do I have to fill out an application after a year? Many things can change on your application in a years time, people move(we need your current address), people change jobs, people have kids or get pregnant(we need to be aware of your family dynamics), pets may have passed or you may have added new ones(again, need to know the dynamics to make an appropriate match), vet reference will have changed(we need to know your dogs are current on their medical.
If you have specific questions and for some reason you do not get a reply via email(remember we are all volunteers, we have our jobs, families, personal pets, commitments, and foster dogs to take care of, w
Puppies playing like puppies should ❤️
Murph's foster momma Dena is really crafty and made this brain game toy out of an old rubber sink mat and leftover fleece pieces. She threw some treats into the blanket and he has to nuzzle around and find the pieces. How awesome is this?!

Thalia is our newest rescue Intake! More information coming soon! She is an 8 month old female grey brindle Cane Corso!
As we reflect on this past year, we want to say thank you. Thank you to all of our wonderful supporters, our volunteers and our fosters. Thank you to everyone who reached out to us about dogs in need and thank you to those who helped network dogs in our care. Also, a very special thank you to all of our adopters. Rescue is not a one person show it takes a village and we here at East Coast Gentle Giants are in awe of each and every one of you. We have had so many perfect adoptions this past year. Together we gave each of these dogs a chance at a new beginning. The chance to know the meaning of Love and Trust. I want to say thank you for helping make all these adoptions possible. Together we are making a difference. Together we saved every single one of these precious lives.
