After his show debut last year at the COGypsyFest we knew this guy needed more of this!
I mentioned earlier that one of our guys was going to have a pretty full year with a little help from our friends; I’m so excited for this guy to be showcased this year by BrokenTRanch! He’s having so much fun with Tracey and T and I absolutely LOVE how they keep me updated with photos and pictures!
This guy will get to go to so many more shows this year than we could ever hope to attend with our schedules, what a blessing these talented and knowledgeable ladies are! And what a great experience for a young stallion. I couldn’t ask for him to be in better hands!

Here's a little glimpse into our life when we're not foaling out and playing with babies ....
I am so super proud of "willow" today.
When we first started working with her, she had the typical colt like startles, but was markedly irritated by movement around and touching her caboose...
So yesterday if you saw some photos with saddle bags slightly behind the saddle, that's why...
And today... this is what I would call progress!!!
I typically will carry a stick/whip of sorts to encourage the forward movement, and don't like to use the rein to encourage movements, because that can come back to haunt you later 😉 we'll get there , but I'm super proud of her responsiveness to verbal and calmness about all the craziness around her legs and body!
Ground driving can be a great tool for so
Many reasons, and prepares them for harness training as well as saddle training. I hopped on her afterwards and she was so soft 💕

If you've been watching our live videos today, this was towards the end of the day, when we got some of them in pens, and started to sort. Some of these guys will be going to the sale this week, some needed to be moved to different winter pastures. As you can see, the VX is a partnership and a family.
Days like this are always filled with camaraderie; with some of our veteran buddies joining us today as well as the kiddos. After the gather, good food and fellowship.
Days like this are fun to see the horses get out and work, doing real things. And see some of the guys we work with carrying other riders through all types of adventures.
Soulshine, Ella, Lillie were among the gypsies and you can't see Remi, since we were the one with the camera 💕 Crow and Sammie our favorite stock horses along with Ray and his colt 🥰

I'm so darn proud of this girl. We've been working on softness and forward. She's a big girl. 15.2 and just recently started. She's getting better and I'm really proud of the progress she's making. Nice forward motion and happy about it. VX
I'm super proud of this girl. She's learning softness and responsiveness. At 15.2 and just started she has a lot to move around, and she's learning to do it gracefully and correctly under saddle.
Correct is important. Balance and frame are important, but forward is important and I like to train my horses to be soft to leg, not a horse you have to continually drive. I find gypsy horses especially can become dull to the overuse of aids, so this is something I take into account when starting them. Big rewards. Black and white.
She's a beautiful and talented mare and I'm excited to see what the future holds for this girl!
