Lake Metroparks strives to protect dog health and safety and will reopen the pond area when water quality improves. Check back for updates.

The pond at Canine Meadow Dog Park is now open! Access to the pond is by way of the large dog area.

Please note: The pond is tested and treated on a bi-weekly basis by an outside lab for bacteria to determine whether the water is safe enough for both humans and pets. Check back for updates/changes.

ALERT: All Lake Metroparks buildings, Farmpark, Penitentiary Glen Nature Center, the pier at Painesville Township Park and the tower at Lake Erie Bluffs are CLOSED until further notice due to forecasted extreme weather. High winds, dangerous wind chills and snow will make conditions unsafe for staff and visitors. Parking lots and trails will not be plowed until it is safe to do so (likely Monday, December 26 due to the holiday).

Please take all recommended safety precautions and limit unnecessary travel. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe.
