WHO WE ARE
Orphans of the Storm is located in Armstrong County. We were established in 1969 to provide temporary shelter for unwanted and abused animals. We match lovable animals with loving forever homes, educate the public on humane, r

esponsible care of all animals, and promote spaying and neutering to reduce companion animal overpopulation. Orphans of the Storm is a no-kill animal shelter. This means we euthanize an animal only if it is suffering with no hope to be cured, or if the animal is a danger to people or other animals. You can donate by texting ORPH to 89871

Happy Tails Adoption Stories!

We adopted Buzz November 2022, he was tiny and super shy when we brought him home. 2 years later, not only has grown, but he’s outgoing, talkative, and a huge cuddler! He loves watching the TV with the family, showing off his toys, playing with his big brother, and shoes. He knows he’s cute and loves to strike a pose when the camera comes out!

Zoey is 5 years old. Zoey is happy, friendly, and wags her tail a lot! She is very affectionate and wants to be near you. Zoey is calm and gentle. Zoey is always happy about going outside and she gets excited when you talk to her in a silly voice. She is an easy walker and doesn't pull on her leash. She also likes to play fetch, especially with squeaky toys!

Lost Cat! 🔈🔈
Please be on the lookout for this beautiful girl! She hasn’t come home for a few days, located in Rural Valley Pa. Scar is a 2 year old orange tabby, she is wearing a Seresto flea and tick collar and has freckles on her gums. She is very friendly and will most likely come to you if you call her name!

Xena is almost 5 years old. Xena raised 10 puppies when she came to us. She lived with a foster family and loved their daughter very much. Xena is very loving with humans and very affectionate. She loves her walks with the volunteers. She does have a high prey drive and a secure yard and supervision.

Xena is an American Pit Bull Terrier.She is almost 5 years old and has been waiting at our shelter for her forever home for more than 2 years.Xena was pregnant when she came to us and raised her 10 puppies in a foster home. She loved their daughter very much. Xena is very loving with humans and very affectionate. She loves her walks with the volunteers.She is very smart. Xena loves to cuddle, and get, and give hugs. She loves her treats but needs to be reminded to be gentle. Xena does have a high prey drive so needs to be on a leash or in a secure fenced-in yard with supervision.
