WHO WE ARE
Orphans of the Storm is located in Armstrong County. We were established in 1969 to provide temporary shelter for unwanted and abused animals. We match lovable animals with loving forever homes, educate the public on humane, r

esponsible care of all animals, and promote spaying and neutering to reduce companion animal overpopulation. Orphans of the Storm is a no-kill animal shelter. This means we euthanize an animal only if it is suffering with no hope to be cured, or if the animal is a danger to people or other animals. You can donate by texting ORPH to 89871

🐶🐶 Tuesday Happy Tails! 🐶🐶

We received such a wonderful update from Honey's fur-ever family! Read below for her "Happy Tail"! 👇👇

"We were blessed to add Honey to our family six weeks ago. She is stuck to one of us at all times if we're sitting down and she sleeps tight against my chest in bed. If we're up doing something, she is definitely "helping" - usually by trying to sit on our laps, lick our faces or sticking her head under our hands for petting.

She can disembowel squeaky toys in minutes! She has never met a person she doesn't like (or want to kiss!) and several folks have told us she's the nicest dog we've ever had. We love her so much!"

Today is the day - our friends at Lost Dog Tattoo are hosting a Flash Tattoo Event to benefit Orphans of the Storm!

Here are the details: 👇👇

▪️ Lost Dog Tattoo, 534 West Cunningham Street, Butler
▪️ Today (Friday, May 3) until (at least) 7:00 pm
▪️ In-person time slot sign-ups (clients may leave and return at appointment time)
▪️ Pre-made flat rate tattoo designs
▪️ $60 - $100 donation (based on design)
▪️ Baked goods and merchandise for sale
▪️ 50/50 raffle (1 for $1 or 25 for $20)

Thanks to all of you, we have raised the necessary funds to schedule Shiloh's surgery! He will undergo surgery to correct his deformed front left leg on May 22!

We will continue to provide updates as Shiloh recovers from surgery and, once rehabilitated, is available for adoption.

💔 Please Help Poor Shiloh! 💔

We took custody of Shiloh after he was found on an animal neglect call with his fellow Great Dane litter mates. He was unable to run and play like the other dogs due a badly deformed front left leg. He was being pushed around by his brothers and sisters.

He is now safely in a foster home but continues to struggle with pain and mobility because of his leg. He desperately needs surgery so he can live a normal, happy life - but the cost of the procedure is very expensive.

Your donation to our Hope Fund: Shiloh's Surgery will go directly to covering Shiloh's $8,000.00 surgery. Every donation, every dollar will help him!

Once he has the surgery and recovers, one-year-old Shiloh will be available for adoption.

🐾 I'm Available For Adoption! 🐾

Here is your !

Riley is an energetic, spayed adult Pit Bull Terrier. She is very smart, house-trained and is a proud graduate of Burk's Dog Training boarding program. Her fur-ever family will also get two free additional training sessions to help her transition into her new home. 💟

She takes a daily supplement for an old knee injury and limps occasionally. She enjoys going for walks but long treks can be difficult for her.

She got along with the trainer's dog who is equal her size. She would do best in a home without cats or small dogs.

Riley's boarding trainer noted that she is friendly with dogs and people but would probably prefer a quiet long-term home. She does fine with new people in her surroundings and enjoys small gatherings but is shy and uncomfortable in larger groups of people. She is crate-trained and prefers to lounge in it when left home alone. Her ideal day would be a short afternoon walk followed by couch snuggles in the evening!

🐶🐶 Tuesday Happy Tails! 🐶🐶

Sadie and Georgia continue to thrive in their fur-ever home! Sadie was adopted from Orphans of the Storm in October 2011. Georgia came home in July 2021. 💗💗

Sadie is now almost 13 and still loves her walks. Long treks can be exhausting for her so her family lovingly got her a cart to ease her tired legs.

Georgia's fur-family calls her a "spoiled rotten ball of love"! She just wants to meet and greet everyone and everything! She loves her heated bed and terrorizing Sadie and fur-brother, Copper.

Lovable Kim deserves all of the attention - and she's looking for her fur-every home!
She came to us while pregnant. After delivering and weaning her puppies, they were successfully adopted and now it's Kim's turn to find the perfect family! 💟

She is a 5-year-old spayed Pit Bull Terrier with a sweet disposition. She loves to play with the other dogs at her foster family's farm. She is affectionate and enjoys people and going for long walks.

🐾🐾 Cause for the Paws! 🐾🐾

Our friends at Lost Dog Tattoo are hosting a Flash Tattoo Event to benefit Orphans of the Storm!

Here are the details: 👇👇

▪️ Lost Dog Tattoo, 534 West Cunningham Street, Butler
▪️ Friday, May 3, 2024; 10:00 am - (at least) 7:00 pm
▪️ In-person time slot sign-ups on day of the event (clients may leave and return at appointment time)
▪️ Pre-made flat rate tattoo designs
▪️ $60 - $100 donation (based on design)
▪️ Baked goods and merchandise for sale
▪️ 50/50 raffle (1 for $1 or 25 for $20)

The tattoo artists are generously donating their time. Gratuity is much appreciated.
