From our pack to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Remember that next week is New Year’s and with it comes fireworks. Please keep your dogs safe and secure indoors.
If you must take them out during the evening hours, do so on leash and with a correctly fitted collar.
This is a good time to start playing firework sounds on the tv, google or Alexa to get them acclimated to the noise.
We love your dogs and want them to stay safe!! 🐾❤️

Labrador Retriever Puppy, Sydnee
Sydnee had her Meet & Greet with her Trainer at 3 months and we knew she was going to be so very special. Sydnee's older sister, Sadie the choco lab is also an All-Star Alumni, so this family is very near and dear to our hearts.
Sydnee actually came to camp at 5.5 months, just a wee bit earlier than our NSK9 guidelines because the family's other Lab came through at a younger age without issue, and Sydnee's family had vacation planned.
So we started Sydnee a couple weeks earlier than our normal, comfortable protocol for several reasons: family vacation schedule and also Sydnee was being majorly destructive in the home and eating the leather couch and crown molding off the walls.
Sydnee also had some issues with bladder control and excited pee in the house: Likely due to underdeveloped bladder muscles, muscle control and general development, so that's why we worked on things like "CORE + CONDITIONING + BALANCE + CONFIDENCE"!
Puppies grow through their their developmental stages differently and at different paces, so not all puppies are the same. When we got Sydnee for Adventure Camp, she was lacking a bit with both physical and mental stamina and endurance, although she was always up for the task at hand, she tired quickly and needed lots of physical / mental rest and reassurance.
Toward the middle of her 2nd week of Camp, we realized that Sydnee was still in her puppy teething stage, so we halted training and just loved on her until we returned her to her family to rest up and progress through the teething stage.
After a couple weeks, we took Sydnee back for another week to finish up her Adventure Camp at no cost to the family because it was the right thing to do for Sydnee (most importantly), her family and her Trainer.
Sydnee came back to finish up her Adventure Training Camp ready to Rock & Roll and she had the mental clarity and physical endurance to exceed our expectations.
And that is the company that we created... "do the right thing because it's th
Golden Retriever: Leroy
"Confidence is not built within your comfort zone..."
Leroy is almost 110lbs with a new tiny human baby at home. He came to Adventure Camp as an emergency training camper due to Leroy not doing well with the new baby and trying to jump on him, which landed him at the kennel for a bit after baby came home from the hospital. We made special accommodations for Leroy and got him in ASAP, not only because it was the right thing to do, but also because Leroy has 3 doggie cousins who are North Star Alumni!!
Leroy is sly like a fox, big as a horse and stubborn as a mule. Leroy has learned to use his size to his advantage and would completely shut down refusing to move whenever he was frightened, or really, whenever he wanted, which made it difficult for Leroy to fully enjoy all the possibilities of his beautiful life.
This is just a snippet of Leroy's transformation... and oh man, what a transformation it has been! So proud of you, Leroy!!!

Hank was a MAJOR puller before Adventure Training Camp. Now he can do the coffee cup challenge like a pro and is a joy to take around town! Giving him something to think about and boosts his confidence that his handler has everything under control which helps ease his anxiety in new environments 🧡🤍#dog #dogsoftiktok #dogsofknoxville #dogsofknoxvilletn #dogsoftennessee #gbo #gb🍊 #vfl #utk #utknoxville #northstark9training #nsk9
