Angels On Earth Labrador Retrievers

Angels On Earth Labrador Retrievers Angels On Earth Labrador Retrievers are small hobby breeders dedicated to loving, sharing and educat Black--Blacks are all black.
(10)

Our first passion is love of the magnificent English Labrador. Their big block heads and soft, sweet expressive faces are sure to melt your heart. We feel when the term "man’s best friend" was first uttered it had to be in reference to an English Labrador. We have a policy of donating pups from each litter to be trained as service animals for wounded or disabled veterans. We carefully select pups

we feel would best fit into training programs for service to others. We feel the greatest show of appreciation we can give those who have sacrificed for us is to provide them with the most genetically sound, healthiest pups we can breed. Pups that we sell to pet family homes will always leave us on a limited registration with a spay/neuter contract unless we have discussed and agreed upon conditions before new puppy parents come to our home for puppy parties. Angels On Earth Labrador Retrievers is a small hobby breeder that specializes only in breeding standard English Labradors with an average of 1 to 3 puppy litters per year. AKC defines standard coat colors: “The Labrador Retriever coat colors are black, yellow and chocolate. Any other color or a combination of colors is a disqualification. A small white spot on the chest is permissible, but not desirable. White hairs from aging or scarring are not to be misinterpreted as brindling. A black with brindle markings or a black with tan markings is a disqualification. Yellow--Yellows may range in color from fox-red to light cream, with variations in shading on the ears, back, and underparts of the dog. Chocolate--Chocolates can vary in shade from light to dark chocolate. Chocolate with brindle or tan markings is a disqualification”. We firmly believe the breed standard is the best guideline for a prospective new family member. Angels On Earth in NO way, shape or form supports DILUTES in our breed. We encourage all prospective puppy families to do your research and understand there is no such thing as a Champagne, Charcoal or Silver Labrador and while some people have registered such animals with AKC, we know it is not through honest means. Anyone offering to sell you a Champagne, Charcoal or Silver pup is offering to sell you a high priced mutt and in such cases, we believe you would do better to rescue a Labrador from a kill shelter then to pay your hard earned money to someone who is not honest with you or does not put the animals health first and foremost over an almighty dollar. Yes, we have a strong opinion on the breed standard subject and will not be swayed by anything other than facts. We consider the health and well being of the breed and our puppies to be most important consideration on this matter.

“Why do dogs live less than people??

Here's the answer:

Being a vet, I was called to examine a 13-year-old Irish dog named Belker.

The dog's family, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little 6-year-old Shane were close to Belker and expected a miracle.

I tested the dog and found out he was dying of cancer. I told the family I couldn't do anything for him and offered to do the euthanasia procedure at home.

The next day, I felt the familiar feeling in my throat when Belker was surrounded by family.

Shane seemed so quiet, petting the dog for the last time and I was wondering if he would understand what was going on. In a few minutes, the animal fell peacefully sleeping to never wake up.

The child seemed to accept Belker's transition without difficulty. We sat for a moment wondering why the unfortunate fact that dog life is shorter than human beings.

Shane, who had been listening closely, said, "I know why."

What he said next surprised me: I had never heard a more heartwarming explanation than this. This moment changed my way of seeing life.

He said: "People come into the world to learn to live a good life, like loving others all the time and being a good person, eh? well, as dogs are already born knowing how to do all this, they don't have to stay as long as we do."

The moral of the story is:

If a dog was his teacher, you'd learn things like:

🐾 When your loved ones come home, always run to say hello.

🐾 Never pass up an opportunity to go for a walk.

🐾 Allow yourself the experience of fresh air and wind.

🐾 Runs, jumps, and plays daily.

🐾 Upgrade your attention and let people touch you.

🐾 Avoid " biting" when just a "growl" would suffice.

🐾 On warm days, lay on the grass.

🐾 When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

🐾 And never forget: "When someone has a bad day, stay silent, sit close and gently make them feel like you're there..."

This is the secret of happiness that, even if we don't realize, dogs teach us daily.”🐶❤️

Health issues have changed everything in our breeding program. We believe our work for and with veterans is not complete. God placed this duty on and in our hearts and we shall continue His work until He tells us we have completed His path for us.

With this in mind we believe God has placed 2 stud dogs in our path that we have been very graciously offered to use. So we are very seriously contemplating breed Honey in the spring of next year. We are wondering how much interest we have in what will be an all yellow litter.

If you are interested, know if great potential puppy families, what to learn more about the awesome parents of this litter please reach out to us or if you are one of our fabulous puppy families please share this information with those you believe would be a good fit for being a great addition to your AOE family so we can make our decision.

We love you all and thank you in advance.

My purchase of a well bred purebred did not sentence another dog to death.

My purchase of a well bred purebred did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter.

Me wanting a dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted.

My meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not what you should be pushing the blame onto.

I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either.

It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, my choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death.

A breeder who health tests, temperament tests, studies pedigrees, proves a dog worthy of being bred, and only breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs.

The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by reputable breeders and those who purchase from them.

Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem.

Your friend who impulse bought a dog at PetLand IS contributing to the problem.

That guy on Craigslist pumping out the trendiest designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem.

Your relative who just HAS to let their dog have one litter “so she can experience motherhood” or because “she’s just so sweet” IS contributing to the problem.

Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem.

A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support. A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with. A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them should you find yourself unable of keeping it.

It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is misplaced.

If you take a deeper look, you will find reputable breeders and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes.

Hope everyone is doing well with all this Covid still going on. Mark added himself to the injured list with a hospital stay a few weeks ago but is doing better. We are working on him gaining strength back again and grateful no surgery was required.

We are still trying to understand the new FB layout for our page so if we don't see a post from anyone, its not you. its us. We don't know where everything is anymore. LOL

In AOE news we EXCITED to announce we will have a FABULOUS male visiting us this upcoming Feb/March and are planning on 2 Spring/Summer 2021 litters. Cruz is a Raven X Dude son, from their only litter way back in 2015. We can't tell you how grateful we are to be able to have him visiting his birthplace and produce babies for us.

SO THANKFUL, SO BLESSED. SO LOOKING FORWARD TO 2021!

I AM A BREEDER...
Food receipts are for my dogs food bills.
I have more whelping supplies than I do medicine and first aid supplies.

I have vaccines in my fridge, ringers on hand, my vet on speed dial and multiple puppy pens in my living room.

I am a breeder, who when bad weather strikes, save the dogs/puppies before taking cover myself. My feet find the way to the puppy pens before I have even eaten breakfast in the morning and the puppy pens are my last stop before bed.
Personal plans revolve around delivering or hand feeding puppies. They are made around heat dates, whelp dates, puppies going to their new homes and vet dates.

I am a breeder, who has been covered in more bodily fluids from my dogs on more occasions than I care to admit.

Most of the time my conversations with friends revolves around my dogs.

When I get exhausted and feel like I can't do another sleepless night hand feeding a puppy around the clock every 2 hours I remind myself religiously that the hand feeding is only temporary and the reward is coming.

I am a breeder who sacrifices my own sanity and rest to wake up every hour to check on a dam in labor, or soon to be.

Many people wouldn't understand how it feels to have invested hours upon hours into a weak puppy to ultimately lose it and how it can feel the same as losing a loved one or the joy I feel when all the invested hours have paid off in one that lives.

I am a breeder, who has bottle fed, syringe fed and even sponge fed a puppy, doing whatever it takes feeding every 2 hours and it taking 45 minutes to do it for weeks at a time to ensure it's survival.
I have learned to be proficient at vaccinations, sub- q fluids, syringe feeding, , temperature taking and formulated and perfected my own puppy formula.
Working out natural, well working, remedies to just about every puppy issue , like canned pumpkin for constipation or loose poop's.

My Vet knows me by my first name, and has witnessed me cry countless times.

I am a breeder, to me that 63 days takes on new meaning still excited by every new life. It is I who delivers all my pups, towels and heating pads on ready, happiness and sadness sometimes intermingled.

It is I who has breathed the first breath of life into a puppy who has refused to take that first breath. Even though it increases my work load, I look forward to the 14 day stage when eyes open, and puppies begin to emerge from the helplessness of newborns.Puppy breath, a first bark, and a heart of exploration. I am a conscientious lover of animals and I have found my niche.

I am a breeder, and I am not cruel, dumb, uncaring or criminal. I take great responsibility for every life I bring into this world and ensure it goes to a wonderful, loving and perfect home. An extension of the same love and care they received while in my own home.

I am not raking in money while sitting on my butt. Every penny I make I earn through blood, sweat, hard work and tears. My greatest joy is a healthy puppy going to a wonderful home.

The cards of thanks, gifts from clients and the pictures of my puppies with their new families are the fringe benefits of my efforts.

I am an animal lover, nurse, midwife, heavy laborer, customer service representative and marketer and PROUDLY I AM A BREEDER!

There is a 1st time for everything....we've never named a litter or had a theme litter but here is our 1st. I'll tell you the names, can you guess our "Theme"?

1st born blue collar blk male - Renegade, 2nd born orange collar blk male - Sailor, 3rd born purple collar blk female - Lady, 4th born pink collar yellow female - Babe. We did have 2 angel babies 1 male, 1 female they would have been named Kilroy and Lorelei. We know they said "Hello God" for us.

Figure it out yet? It's near and dear to our hearts.

HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY?

Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisingly states: “I can buy a cheaper pup elsewhere”. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.

No dog is “just a pet”.

Behind every pure bred puppy/dog is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. A reputable breeder does not breed dogs without papers, that does not protect the integrity of the breed. Registration (papers) are records of lineage that document bloodline and allow one to research any possible health issues present in the lineage. When you tell a Breeder you don’t care about papers what you’re really telling them is you couldn’t care less about the health of the puppy you just want the cheapest thing you can find! When you select to buy a puppy from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every pup ; both dogs owned and every pup they’ve sold for its lifetime. This breeder will skip holidays, miss sleeping, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their dogs . The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in puppies that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any puppy/dog who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question.

A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about...In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do tests, echos, x-rays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register litters, research pedigrees, de-worm, as well as microchip their puppies and get them evaluated by specialists.

Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they are not making money off the sale. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made so they need to be confident its the right fit. Many times saying more no’s then yes...A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.

Because a dog is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly persons therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!

Be careful to NOT over vaccinate!

Vaccinating cats and dogs can cause a range of diseases and veterinarians are often guilty of "over-prescribing to maximize profits."

Let me answer the most common questions.
1. All our dogs are purebred Labrador Retrievers.
2. All of our dogs are AKC registered
3. All of our retirees have been spayed or neutered and recovered BEFORE we place them.
4.NO our dogs are not free
5. We have spent $1000.'s of dollars before any of our dogs enter our breeding program and all of our dogs have passed all required health clearances.
6. All prospective homes must still go through the same process - Questionnaire completed, vet references, and phone interview.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't want to answer the same questions over and over again. This is really hard enough letting some of our most precious treasures go.

Thank you for understanding.

Available retired -
GG is retired, spayed and UTD on all immunizations. She will be 5 in April. She was set to go to a veteran to be trained for PTSD but he needed change his plans. GG is a sweet, almost 5 yr old girl who came to us from a wonderful breeder in Florida. She has a happy go lucky personality who loves to play with puppies and youngsters. She is sweet, calm, likes to hang out and be with you and enjoys laying on the couch or fetching a ball.

UPDATE: The wonderful family that wanted her has had to reconsider and we truly understand. So she is still AVAILABLE.

Available youngster for family companion home-
Affectionately called Thelma is 19 weeks old. She is utd on her shots except rabies which she will get this week. She a playful puppy with lots of energy. We have been working on crate training but she is not potty trained yet as weather has not permitted consistent opportunity, but she is very smart and will catch on quickly. She is very lovable and loves to run around outside. Please email us at [email protected]

Major changes coming to our program due to Bren's health. We are praying with heavenly guidance to her doctors this down turn will only be temporary and that new treatments will bring improvement so that we can continue on this path we believe God has called us to do. Helping others has always been top priority for us but right now we will need to take a step back and work on the hurdles placed before us.

If you believe in prayer as much as we do we ask and would greatly appreciate that you pray with us that God's will is to heal and provide relief for us on this journey.

Later today we will be posting our available dogs. We have some we have retired, one who has never bred but all health testing and clearances complete and one pup available. We will post pics and info on each that is available.

We will not post pricing on the internet. What is most important is our beloved babies are placed in proper homes. So, we will need more information about you than us receiving 20 or 30 emails of "How much?" questions. If you have an honest interest in one of our Labs that will be available we ask that you email us at [email protected] or call us. Mark at 865-249-8495, Bren 865-394-2526. All normal application process will apply, ie, completed questionnaire, vet reference check, phone interview, etc.

Thank for for understanding and being the best extended family we could ever ask for.

Much love & God Bless
~Mark & Bren
