East TN Delta Waterfowl, in partnership with the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, organized a dove hunt event for University of Tennessee students, providing hands-on instruction on successful hunting and cleaning techniques for wild dove. This initiative underscores our dedication to mentoring and cultivating the next generation of hunters, essential for sustaining conservation efforts and promoting hunter recruitment. Special thanks to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and wildlife officer Caleb Hardwick for assisting with this hunt!

East TN Delta Waterfowl recently had the privilege of hosting 14 students from the University of Tennessee and Cleveland State for a guided dove hunt, which served as a first-time hunting experience for many participants. This initiative aligns with our commitment to mentoring and recruiting the next generation of hunters, a crucial aspect of ensuring the future of conservation and hunting.

While the 2023-2024 University Hunting Program season nears a close, with only a few schools participating in Spring Light Goose Conservation Order season shortly, we would like to reflect on our best year of the UHP yet!

103 colleges and universities hosted a UHP event, providing the future leaders of waterfowl management with a valuable introduction to the first-hand experience of hunting's vital role in North America's Model of Wildlife Conservation.

Delta Waterfowl's President and Chief Scientist, Dr. Frank Rohwer, will speak to Congress on behalf of H.R. 6854 —The Habitat Enhancement Now, or HEN, Act. 🦆

If passed, the HEN Act would provide funding for the installation and maintenance of Hen Houses in crucial breeding habitats and the enhancement of nesting and brood habitat in California. Such funding would boost nest success and result in more ducks over your decoys each fall.
