Meet Waldo Waldo is looking for a fun-loving family. He loves ball and can play fetch until his legs fall off. While he would love an active family to play outside, go on hikes, swim, walk, or run, he is very adaptable and just as content to snuggle on the couch all day or take a nap with you, He enjoys car rides. If he shows interest in something that seems like a toy, but it’s not, just remind him “not a toy! Here’s Waldo’s toy,” and he is very good at listening. He knows sit, lay down, drop it and crate trained. His one weakness is food left out where he can reach, or possibly even climb to reach. He would do best in a home that can enforce a no-human-food policy or help him master skills like “leave it” and “drop it”. He also gets a little over-enthusiastic about guests and but calms down after a few minutes, but could use some additional training not to jump as a greeting. Waldo would be successful in many types of families. He loves cats and okay with dogs who don’t come on too strongly, but can learn to get along with specific dogs once he gets to know them. Waldo would probably do best with kids over 10 who know better than to jump on him or pull his tail. While he showed a lot of patience he showed signs of stress like whale eye, yawning, and licking with toddlers. Waldo is a good boy and deserves a family to love him. Calling all kind hearts and helping paws! Due to the size constraints of our supporting shelter (Seiverville Animal Care Center) and few staff members short coupled with the increasingly high needs in the community, the last year has been incredibly difficult. While they are raising funds for the new facility, they need more foster help than ever to continue to humanely care for companion animals. They are working multiple hoarding cases simultaneously and simply cannot continue intake for these critical cases and for the strays without the help of fosters. They have very few adult dog fosters and many need placement with: • Adoption Ambassadors to help advertise them for adoption from the comfort of a foster home. Many adult dogs who are already altered, vaccinated, and ready to go could leave the shelter to provide more space to help the strays in our county. Many medium and larger breed pups have been waiting for a forever family and could use a champion like you to get the word out about them. • Medical Caregivers fosters who are comfortable providing general medications, sometimes medicated baths, who can allow these friends to recover quickly and well without threat of exposure from other animals with unknown health histories. Some dogs have something as minor as allergies, others may have kennel cough or need to recover after a procedure, while others may have partial blindness or be suffering from ill-effects related to aging. • Behavioral Caregivers who can help doggos find adopters who have issues with things like barrier reactivity who would present well outside of the shelter, or doggos who have special needs like lacking confidence that they can only improve on in a home. Some younger dogs such as older puppies critically need socialization to learn and appreciate the comfort of a humans Kennel space is desperately needed to continue intake on animals desperately in need of care.
