**Major Update** the total cost for his surgery is $3,495 which is less than we were quoted! Tamara Lacy picked him up for me today and I will have him back here with me tomorrow, she even face timed me so that I could talk to him 😂 the things we do for these pups!! Now let's raise some funds to cover this surgery..

For those following Majors journey, I have an update for you. Turns out this boy had a broken Ulna and does require surgery and unfortunately no vets here in my area could perform this surgery, luckily my vet here sent in a referral to UT and they got us in for a consultation yesterday! He did have his surgery this morning and is resting comfortably now. He will be heading back here on Saturday where he will remain on strict kennel rest for up to 8 weeks!!

If you would like to make a donation towards Majors surgery we would forever be grateful and so would Major(the sweetest boy you'd ever meet) his estimate for surgery is $4,000-$6,000 and I didn't hesitate to tell them to go ahead with the procedure( probably should have gotten permission from our fearless leader first but, I went rouge😎) he is a vibrant young dog with his whole life ahead of him and I want him to know WE CARE! He will never have to wonder if he is loved because, he is loved more than he'll ever know and will continue to be loved even after he's adopted, hopefully soon after he's all healed.

I have also made a small wish list on Amazon for him if you would like to send him some goodies, everything I've added are things he will need to keep him occupied while having to stay kenneled..

Meet Magnum, a handsome 3-year-old black and rust male with natural ears and a docked tail. This lovable pup is looking for a forever home that understands his needs. Magnum was returned to us after having some issues with nipping strangers, so he would thrive in a home with other big dogs and older kids over the age of 10. He's a true Velcro boy who adores being close to his people. While he's crate trained, he's still perfecting his leash manners. Magnum is a smart cookie who already knows how to sit and is fully housebroken. Currently being fostered in East TN, Magnum is eagerly waiting for the right family to give him the love and care he deserves.

We are incredibly thankful for the amazing individuals who have opened their hearts and homes to adopt, foster, or support our rescue mission. Your kindness has made a lifelong difference in the lives of these precious pups.

As we gather with loved ones to celebrate, let's also remember those furry friends who are still waiting for their chance to experience the warmth and love of a family. 🍂🐾

Also remember to keep your fur-babies safe this holiday season. Take a look at some Thanksgiving dog safe guidelines.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with love, gratitude, and the joy of knowing you've made a difference in the lives of our four-legged friends. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Volunteet States Doberman Rescue! 🦃🐾❤️

Meet Laney, a charming 4-year-old female black and tan dog with a cropped and docked tail. Laney has been diagnosed with Wobblers, but with the help of pain medication, she is able to lead a comfortable life. Laney is looking for a home where she can be the sole furry companion, as she hasn't been tested with cats. However, she is fantastic with kids and is fully potty trained.

Laney is an independent girl who does well when left alone and is crate trained. She has learned basic commands such as sit and come, and she patiently waits for mealtime. While Laney isn't fond of leash walks, she thoroughly enjoys riding in the car. When it comes to cuddling, Laney is a pro and has plenty of energy to keep up with an active household. She can get a bit rough during playtime, but she loves playing with both toys and people.

It's important to note that Laney may exhibit some aggression towards other dogs if she is awakened from sleep, but she has shown no aggression towards people. Currently, she is being fostered in Knoxville, TN.

If you're ready to welcome a loving dog, Laney might just be the perfect match for you!

🚨❗️URGENTLY SEEKING FOSTERS❗️🚨

🐾 "Looking for a meaningful way to make a difference? 🐾

We are looking for fosters in TN and surrounding states.

Did you know that there are countless doberman in shelters who are desperately seeking a way out and only need a temporary home? By opening your heart and home to a foster dog, you can help save a life and make a lasting impact.

Fostering a dog is not only rewarding, but it also provides a loving and safe environment for these animals to thrive. You'll have the opportunity to witness their incredible transformation as they go from scared and uncertain to confident and happy. Plus, you'll be giving them a second chance at life and the older of finding their forever home!!

Not only will fostering bring joy and fulfillment to your life, but it also comes with numerous benefits. You'll have a loyal companion by your side, a walking buddy, and a furry friend who will always be there to offer unconditional love. Fostering is also a great way to teach children about responsibility and empathy.

Don't worry if you have a busy schedule or limited space – fostering can be flexible! Whether you can commit to providing short-term care or have the capacity for a longer-term commitment, every bit helps. VSDR covers the expenses, so you won't have to worry about the financial burden.

We run on fosters and can only bring in as many dogs as we have fosters for. Our owner surrender list is getting longer and we are unable to pull from shelters, some resulting in euthanizing for space. We need all the help to make a difference and save the lives of these amazing dogs!

So, why wait? Join our VSDR foster family today!

🐾 Meet Ginger, the lovely 7-year-old Redhead🐾

Ginger is a stunning girl, complete with cropped ears and docked tail, who is already spayed and vaccinated. While Ginger gets along well with big dogs, she's not particularly fond of little dogs. We haven't tested her with cats, but it's best to assume that she wouldn't be the best match for a feline friend.

In terms of family dynamics, Ginger would thrive with kids aged 10 and older. She's already housebroken and crate trained, finding comfort in her crate as her safe haven when she's feeling overwhelmed. Although car rides make her a bit nervous initially, she eventually settles down and finds her calm.

Ginger is a clever girl who already knows commands like sit, come, wait, paw, and place. She's still working on her leash walking skills, but with a little help and guidance, she's sure to catch on quickly.

When it comes to her temperament, Ginger is a cuddlebug who adores snuggling with her humans. She's a Velcro gal, always staying close and following her loved ones around. While she's not overly active, she's always up for some playtime and has a particular fondness for sticks and balls.

Ginger plays well with other dogs, but she might need a bit of time to warm up to them. Additionally, she finds great comfort in her blanket, often sucking on it and carrying it around with her.

Currently, Ginger is being fostered in middle Tennessee, patiently waiting for her perfect match. If you're looking for a new snuggle partner who will help you pick up the sticks in your yard, Ginger would be the dog for you!

Hello! My name is Otto, I'm just 1 year old and I absolutely love experiencing everything. I am great with dogs and cats of all sizes. I would play non stop all day if I my way. I love to run. My previous family only ever let me out on a run line and because of that I never learned to walk on a leash. Apparently it's not nice to pull when you're tethered. But no one ever taught me that. But I am a quick learner and would love to have someone patience and consistent willing to teach me. Have you ever heard of toddlers? My foster family has one and that thing drops food everywhere! I love it! But sometimes I forget how big I am and I jump up out of excitement- no one ever taught me not to do that either, oops. She makes me happy when she giggles, I just want to lick her face and play when she throws my ball. Oh! I also love my crate! It's got some awesome heavy duty chew toys but somehow the blankets and beds just keep exploding into little pieces. Some one should really figure out why that keeps happening. I hope my new family is active and excited to teach me everything I should have learned when I was half my current size. I have a lot to catch up on but I'm so willing to learn. I am being fostered in Middle TN.

Introducing Elly Mae! 🩷 This adorable 7-year-old gal is ready to find her forever home. Her foster mom affectionately calls her Mama, as Elly Mae has had many litters in the past. But now, she's done making babies and ready to be loved and spoiled.

Elly Mae is a housebroken sweetheart who does great when left alone. She's comfortable in a crate but prefers the cozy comfort of a couch cuddle. She's also quite clever and already knows commands like sit, down, come, and leave it. Plus, she's learning place and patiently waits for her food until released. On walks, Elly Mae is making progress with the help of a gentle leader. She's learning to walk on a leash without any signs of reactivity.

While Elly Mae gets along well with other dogs, she does have a bit of a dominant side. We're not sure how she feels about cats or kids yet, but her foster mom believes she would be wonderful with older children due to her sweet demeanor. 🧡

Currently, she's being fostered in middle Tennessee. If this sweet gal sounds like a good fit for your family, apply at www.VSDR.org/adoption

🐾 Meet Mila! 🐾

This adorable 3-year-old Black and Rust female is looking for her forever home. Mila is a social butterfly and gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids of all ages. She's housetrained and can be trusted to behave when left alone. Mila is also a seasoned traveler and enjoys going on car rides.

She's a quick learner and already knows commands like Sit, Stay, Come, Down, and Wait. Although she may need a little help with leash walking, her intelligence and eagerness to please will surely make training a breeze.

When it comes to cuddling, Mila is as velcro as they come. She loves to snuggle up with her humans and shower them with affection. But don't let her sweet demeanor fool you - Mila is an active pup who loves to play, sometimes may even get rough. Squeaky toys and stuffed animals are her favorite toys, but she loves playing with other dogs and kids.

However, Mila does have a few challenges. She has a tendency to be attracted to other animals' p**p and can sometimes struggle with food reactivity. This means she may need to be fed separately or receive some training in this area. She can also be quite sneaky when it comes to food, and has stolen from the counter and even peoples hands, so she'll need to learn some food manners.

Currently, Mila is being fostered in Hopkinsville, KY, and she can't wait to find her forever home. If you're looking for a loyal and playful new best friend, Mila might just be the perfect fit for you!
