NorDogs Saint Bernards As a Fancier I breed, show, and just plain enjoy owning Saint Bernard’s. I occasionally have Puppies We Groom and train dogs as well.

As stated before we occasionally have puppies we have bred for sale. We also are active with rescue and helping with Saint Bernard's and some times other dogs. Having Saint Bernard's and showing them is a family affair and a way for our family to bond as we enjoy our Saint Bernard’s and being together. Our Saint Bernard's are pets first and pampered show dogs second.

WHEN TAKING A NEW PUPPY HOME.
Just found this on another page and absolutely loved it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Expectations on taking any puppy home with you....I wanted to touch base on a common issue that breeders come across with new owners.

Realistic Expectations

You go to the breeders home. The pups are all social. They are quiet in the pen. The breeder shows you videos of them being totally relaxed at a dog show. All looks amazing and you bring your puppy home.

Then reality hits. The puppy may cry in the crate for the first few nights making you tired and agitated. The happy social puppy is refusing to greet the half dozen overly excited friends you invited over to see your new puppy. The puppy refuses to walk on a leash. Many are wondering how did my perfect puppy turn into a nightmare.

So let’s discuss realistic expectations of when a puppy goes home. First of all the puppy has been in the breeders home since birth. They had their mother and often littermates. They had their routine, were taught expectations and were completely in their comfort zone.

Now suddenly they are taken to a totally new environment. Picture yourself being dropped into an unknown country, often in a different part of the world. You know only a few words of their language. Differnt trees, animals, smells, temperature and people. Now in the middle of this we are switching up your routine, decide to have a party with people you dont know, and ask you to do jobs you have no idea about. Overwhelming to say the least.

This is what every puppy goes through when going to their new home. Stress manifests in different forms. From not eating, reluctancy to play and greet people. Being apprehensive at the vet’s office or as strangers reach for them. Diarrhea, vomiting and being depression can occur.

So what can you as a new owner do to help your little one acclimate?

- most puppies take 3-4 weeks to acclimate to their new home. Repeat after me THREE to FOUR WEEKS! Not a 1-2 days. I can’t stress this

Well admits all the mess with our accounts right now. I wanted to share some good news NorDogs St Bernards has a dog that made it into the annual for our breed clubs Annual this year even though we haven't done hardly anything it's been a tough year. We're coming out of a really tough stretch we're hoping to get our kennel back up on its feet again and get going thank you for all the followers who's kept with us and our friends that have stuck by her sides hopefully the next few years will show some excellent progress in our kennel. Here's a photo of this year's annual and cedar yet again holding up the kennel all on his own we are so lucky to have and have produced this little boy.

A Little About Us and Our home at Norman Family Funny Farm the home base for NorDogs Large K9 Friends - NorDogs Saint Bernard's along with NorDogs American Wolf Dog's . We are placed in the country in the foothills of the Appalachian Mount range in the Eastern part of Tennessee. We live on a small farm, we grow produce, we have Bunnies, chickens, and a pound with ducks, geese, and Koi. Kids and dogs spend their days in the Woods and fields around our home living life to the fullest and growing healthy on fresh air and sun shine. We AKC Show our Saint Bernard’s and dream of one day having a Champion of our vary own. A number of our Saints are Champion Sired and have a number of champions in their lines. We at NorDogs have pointed our Saints but we have yet to finish one out to Champion. The Cost To Champion a Saint Bernard and the Health testing is vary high. We put the health testing first and make sure our Saints are Healthy. It takes a great deal of money in travel, Hotels, and show fees to Champion a Saint Bernard. I hope this helps you to get to know a little about us and we invite you to explore our FB page and see all the photos of our Saint Bernard's and Feel free to contact us.
