Will start by featuring our 9 litter barrows that are full sibs to the Champ and 3rd overall Chester barrows at ISF last year. 9-2 happens to have the identical notch to the champ and is carbon copy of him at this age! We will sell his mate 9-4 in this sale, 3-4 mates in our March 3rd sale as well as a couple mates at Shaffers Customer Appreciation Sale.

We’ve got pigs about every color and size, but most proud of our group of Chester’s that we will be offering soon. Took a few informal pics in their pens Today and am excited to get official photos soon. We have 10 full sibs to last year’s Indy State Fair Champ Chester Barrow and also the 3rd overall Chester barrow. We also have a beautiful litter out of their littermate gilt and Making Waves. Plus another litter out of Alliance. We will open the barn for viewing this coming Saturday afternoon but the top full sibs and the litter out of the Indy barrows mate gilt will sell online on Showpig (Feb 25 and March 3).

Last Chester litter we will talk about. Mom is a mate to the the barrows that did so much winning for us at the state, National and county level. Best litter we have ever produced (see captions). Phenotypically she is exactly the way we like them. Great bone, build, athleticism and look.
We bred this gal to Making Waves at Lairds and she did a great job of farrowing a gilt heavy litter (7 gilts and 2 boars). This boar excited Me as much as any Chester boar I have seen in quite some time.
Anticipate seeing some of these on our showpig.com sales the end of Feb or Early March.

This sow came from an Elite litter for the Thayer firm in 2021 including the 3rd overall Chester gilt at WPX and the 3rd overall barrow at the In State Fair. Her mom originated from the Pruett firm and was Third overall at Indy in 2019. This sow also had a noteable show career herself with multiple open champ and reserves and was champion and Reserve Grand Overall at the Time to swine open in 2022. She also raised a pile of champs and reserves for herself at counties and opens in 2023.
With the success we had with the Alliance pigs last year, we figured he would be a perfect fit for her.

Want to take some time to feature some of our Chester litters we have on the ground. All were farrowed first few days of January.
First is a repeat mating of the best Chester litter we have ever produced. This litter featured champions at the national, state, county and open levels. Pictures say it all. (See picture captions)
Mom is an excellent mother farrowing and in the crate. Came from a deep litter of winners herself including the reserve Chester gilt at the kentucky state fair in 22.
Anticipate some of these selling at Shaffers customer appreciation sale, some in our online sales and some out of the barn.

This gilt really only showed once at her best and was 3rd overall cross at the Time to Swine open show. She was under the weather at county and my nephew went with two others for his two gilt spots at state. Regardless we were super excited to get her bred and farrowed. She didn’t disappoint!!!!
Being a Jordan and Affliction daughter, she comes from predictable, producing genetics and it shows in the quality and depth of the litter she came from. This litter boasted three top five finishes including the Grand gilt at Washington County Fair in Wisconsin that was also Reserve Grand overall Market Hog. This hog sold for under $400 on our showpig.com online sale.
Her litter is sired by No intro at Lairds. No intro has about as proven of a resume you can find at Lairds and is a notable producer of winning hogs in the show ring and productive sows in reputable herds.

Pepper [On Parole (Lock it up) x Erica (platinum)]. I am as excited about this sow as any we have ever had. Being out of Erica and knowing her potential as a sow we had to buy her back out of the ISF open show for $2,400. She had a strong show campaign herself and was in the hunt at both the Indiana state fair junior and open show. She is also a maternal sib to our popular class winner at the ISF in 2020 and the Reserve Grand Gilt at the Indiana State Fair Open in 2022. Last year we didn’t get her matched up ideally but she had a large gilt litter yielding many high quality pigs. A few did well Including a reserve division champ at Clinton county, several at the top of their open show and county classes and a popular calico we sold at the state fair open show. This year we took her to a little more power and couldn’t be more excited about the mating. Keep your eye out for her litter of 14 out of Pat This! He is the double bred cruel intentions boar at Top Cut that has been doing a great job so far. Having Pat This on the sire side and Lock it Up on the dam side, these pigs are bred similar to the grand overall at the recent Southeast Oklohoma Expo!
Karen comes from a strong litter featuring the reserve champion gilt from the Kentucky State Fair and several mates that were champ or reserves at opens and county fairs. Karen herself showed a couple times and was reserve at an open and champion at Howard County. We jokingly call her Karen only because she is so loud and excited at feeding time. She loves to eat! Easy feeders and you can do a lot with those. She has a superb disposition in the crate, in the show ring and did great with the kids also! Alliance is a Box Office son that came from Rodibaughs (a firm who has raised elite Chester’s for decades). He had a great summer last year including the 4th overall Chester at the Indiana State Fair. This one epitomizes what we are trying to do in the 5GF operation. Show ring success, farrowing crate success, litter consistency, and qualities that stand out. Jordan was an eye catcher all summer long with her stoutness of feature, dense hair and show gilt look. She had a great summer at Clinton county (Grand overall), open shows, and was in the hunt at Indy. Not to mention that she came from a very strong litter featuring the third overall barrow at Shaffers Goldrush Customer Sale, Fifth overall market hog at the Howard County open, a class winning barrow that was in the hunt at Howard County, a gilt that was very competitive at Boone County that sold for $1,350 at the ISF Open and another gilt that was competitive for the Avery family in Wyoming. We are super excited about her litter of 10 out of Affliction (Lairds). Affliction is siring winners all over the country now and the sow power behind him is as good as it gets! Mrs Royalty is out of a special sow and littermate to a special gilt that was our $9,000 Reserve Grand from the Indiana State Fair Crossbred Open Show and Sale. Hence the name Mrs Royalty. It appears she possesses her mom’s productivity farrowing 10 pigs unassisted in about an hour. Her litter is sired by American Classic that comes from a strong sow line at Tres Amigos. American Classic had a phenomenal summer for Shaffer's Goldrush raising winners at every level. Bred for quality, productivity and consistency. Expect to see some of these babies at Shaffers Customer Appreciation sale in Early March!
First Chester litter to feature. This sow came from a powerful litter in 2021. Raised by Thayer and out of Pruett’s third overall gilt from Indy a few years back. Excited about her litter of “the boom’s”. Power packed pedigree from Ottenwalters and this line has made some major noise recently.
Waited to post this sow to let our customers know we will have a couple elite ones out of her at Shaffers Gold Rush Customer Appreciation Sale on March 12th and will also have a couple special ones on our online sale with Smith Show Pigs on March 3rd at Showpig.com. We will be offering some high quality gilts and barrows out of this December chester litter. Sale pics coming soon. The mother of this litter did a bunch of winning in 2019 and was even reserve grand over all breeds at the Lebanon FFA open. She has raised some elite offspring herself (only a few pics of many in this video). Her mom was a class winner at the ISF and has laid a pile of winners in our program. Proven genetics here. Can’t tell you how excited we are for this litter. 9-11 also known as Pepper competed with the best all summer long. As a jan 15 she was reserve middleweight at Clinton, a class winner at the knockout classic and in the hunt at both the junior show and open show at the Indiana state fair. In the deepest class at the junior show he tossed the top end for 15+ minutes. Pepper ended up third behind Brody Everhart’s extremely successful division 3 champ that ended up 4th overall. This class also featured the third overall gilt from division 3. Pepper is unique in that she has no dirty secret in her and she boasts the appetite and growth lacking in many crosses these days. The on Parole boar from Wintex stamps them with lots of shape and a unique look that also is sometimes lacking in the dirty secret lineage. We feel this made her a perfect candidate to tie into the proven end game boar. Pepper couldn’t have done a better job of farrowing. She kicked out 11 unassisted in about 1.5 hours and she has been superb milking and mothering in the crate. This Jan 2 litter of 11 boasts depth, quality and cool color patterns. Proven and consistent genetics here, so don’t miss out on a unique opportunity to own a special one. Barn will open in mid feb to view our December and Jan litters.
