I apologize for being so late with this update. These last couple of weeks have been rough so I’ve been behind on updating.. y’all remember Miracle and Harleigh? These 2 beautiful, sweet little girls both got ADOPTED!!! They both finally have their own little families 🥹🥰 Miracle, don’t worry little one, you nor your brother or mother ever have to live and fend for yourselves or survive in the woods ever again. Y’all are safe, baby girl. Harleigh, you and your brother are safe. No more loud, scary places, sweet girl. 😘💙💙 y’all go run and play and have the most fun. Y’all deserve it and so, so much more! I hope y’all have and get all of the toys, ropes, treats, friends, and everything y’all want and truly deserve. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love y’all so, so big!!

This is a post I’ve dreaded making, but, unfortunately, I have no other choice. Until I am able to get the vet bills for the animals that are currently in my care paid, I have no other option but to close intake. All together these vet bills are currently sitting at $5000 if not more. So many people want to call, text, and basically harass rescues about taking the animals they find, but most of these people never want to help. They don’t donate whether it be time (fostering), money, food, gas, anything. That puts all of those bills coming out of my own pocket. I had 2 vet appointments last week and just for those 2 dogs it costs me $908.81, along with an estimate for 1 of them to have eye surgery, which was quoted as ranging from $290-390. Until these bills are paid down, I cannot charge anything else on them. Sadly, the rough reality is that some dogs might not make it and will more than likely die if I don’t get this bill paid down soon. I am desperately needing donations so these bills can be paid and we can continue saving lives and giving these babies the chances they deserve. As a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue, whatever you donate is tax deductible. Please consider donating to help these babies out so we can continue to help more in need. Those dollars add up so if $1 is all you can spare, that $1 is still saving a life and more down the line.

This boy has had all the tests and treatments he needs and is on the road to recovery, but has a bill of $527 if anyone can help with it. Y’all remember when I went to pick up Bailey and Brody?
We have a huge announcement.. we just found out a few days ago that Bailey is in fact PREGNANT!!! 🫠

With this being said. I am desperately needing puppy food for Bailey specifically so it can help her along her pregnancy along with when the babies arrive. I have not received any donations for any of their food that they need. Their foster parent is doing an amazing job making sure they are cared for and I need to be able to purchase food for these babies and babies to be. Anything helps no amount is too small if anybody can please donate to help these babies get some food so their little bellies can be happy. I normally prefer purina puppy chow complete, pedigree puppy growth & protection, or retriever puppy blend. Two more pups got their freedom rides to go up North this week! Delilah, I knew you were special when the vet met you the first time and had to come out to let me know you were “a great dog”.. I thought he might adopt you himself right then and there 😂
Chompers, you will definitely keep your new family on their toes!
So happy you both finally got your turns to move forward with the lives you each deserve!

UPDATE #2: vet reports Koa will have to stay several more days. He has an injury in one of his ears that is a suspected dog bite wound. It is infected and inflamed and tremendously painful to the touch. His horrific skin condition will take a lot of time and attention but at least he has now been started on medication for it. This fellow already has my heart. He is amazing! To want loves and to just be held after whatever he has been through to be in the shape he is testifies to the forgiving nature he has and verifies he has the right name- he definitely is a “warrior”.

UPDATE: it has been determined that Koa will have to remain at the vet until at least Saturday.

I couldn’t take it any more.. looking at all the posts of this helpless, suffering baby & knowing what could happen if he continued wandering within the city and remained untreated..
One of my longer term pups got to leave this morning (it was questionable as to whether he would at first) & I was blessed with a donation for a kennel just for KOA (meaning “warrior”).
He has been taken to the vet to get a definitive diagnosis and some relief.
Thank you to all who have been looking after him and posting so that he would have a chance to get off the streets.

If anybody knows me well enough, y’all know that I’ve been trying for a while now to catch this “stray momma” or the “smoke shop dog” “the brown dog” and all the other names etc that people referred to her as. I’d been trying to figure her schedule out since well before she had babies. Finally, after a few weeks of not seeing her, I was worried. Then.. I saw her again! This time, she had milk and looked like she had delivered babies. She in fact had just had a litter of puppies.. I knew I had to work extra hard to get her and these pups off the street. My mission started by diving deeper to search for her pups. And one night I FINALLY found where she hid them. She was a challenge to catch, but a HUGE THANK YOU to GloryHound Trapping James,Pam, Mr.Allen and his wife..We finally did it!!! MEET TALLY!!! 🥰💙 I got her pups before I got her (yes, they were already weaned). She is scared like most dogs who have never been touched in their life, but we are slowly working on that. Her pace is the best pace. She will eventually find herself and her personality will start to shine. I do have more awesome news to add into this post as well. Marvel (her son) just GOT ADOPTED!!! 🥹💙💙💙 Eventually, this whole family will know what it’s like to have homes, not having to live in fear on the streets.

From being tossed out like trash to feeling like and KNOWING he was the king of the house. Y’all this little boy came to us shy and not sure about some things and honey when I tell you he found himself and is the sweetest big chonk now. We do have some of the best news.. KODY WAS ADOPTED!! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to his foster mom. Tears and all.. 🫠 without you he wouldn’t have made it out like he did. He wouldn’t carry the name that he has. Kody was scared and didn’t know what was going to happen to him. You stepped in and made a huge decision and said you would foster him. That 1 moment changed his life forever and most definitely for the better. Fostering SAVED his life!! I can not truly thank you enough for giving this sweet fella the chance he deserved. We love you soo sooooo big!

P.s. just remember through all the tears that you gave him and the other babies you have helped with the chance they deserve. 💙💙 we love you!! ❤️

These two precious underweight pitties appeared at someone’s house in the Leake County area several days ago. The homeowner reached out to Joy Withers Reynolds about getting help for them. ( Thank you for being their greatest advocate in order to save them). They are male & female and a little skittish but did greet me for pets and loving when I picked them up yesterday evening. However, they became a bit reluctant when loading up (probably rightly so, if that is how they got to that location in the first place). Right now, they are safe with a wonderful foster. For now, we will concentrate on gaining some weight and getting some medical issues taken care of. The male has some wounds as shown in the pics. What these two have been through we may never know, but to abandon them to get in such shape is shameful.

Yep the sisters who were going to be euthanized if nobody stepped up to help. UPDATE: I am so thankful WINNIE (fair one; gentle friend) (aka Maybelline by Gloryhound) doesn’t need the medical care we all expected her to need going by those initial pictures. She has had her first shots and a dose of wormer, has been fed, watered & loved on ALOT! She is very gentle and not as skittish as I expected her to be. She is reluctant at times but other times not so much. Y’all, this is one of the most beautiful pups! From what I’m told, she & her siblings were dumped out when they were around 4 weeks old & she is the only one who had not been taken in by someone over the last 8 weeks. I can only imagine how she has felt being left all alone and not understanding any of what has happened to her (or her littermates); however, rest easy, Winnie, because your life only gets sweeter from here!

This poor baby needs your help! She has obviously been dumped and was hiding out in a culvert the past couple of days. Culverts + rain = more endangerment for a little one (we believe around 3 mo old) on her own and in such poor health. She is understandably afraid of people. She will be transported from her current location to Heart Of Tot Rescue then on to the vet in the morning to get the care she needs. Hey, guys, I am currently needing 1 tablet of Bravecto for some foster pups who have a skin condition that is treatable with this medication (size 88-123 pounds split 3 ways). The cheapest I’ve found locally is $66. My current vet bill is still over $2000 so it would help greatly to at least get this covered. REMEMBER STELLA??

Yes!! Stella?! The severely emaciated pup who I just prayed to God would survive long enough to receive the help she needed..Stella had been through it - dumped & tagged with the word “vicious”. From the moment I met her, I knew that she had been mislabeled. Stella NOW has stolen the hearts of very many people and has turned into an absolutely STUNNING girl. She is super spoiled (as she should be) 🥰🤣 and LOVES her foster siblings and her foster parents. I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the rescue who accepted her even when times were tough for them but they knew she needed help so badly. She has transformed from a pup who some were unsure about and who needed a lot of work into a stunningly beautiful girl who absolutely LOVES EVERYBODY she meets! Stella has come a very long way and I’m so thankful for the special people who helped her get there! Makes my heart happy when I get these updates 🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️

I apologize for the delay in getting the total bill amounts updated.
At the vet visit last Friday, the vet was concerned with multiple aspects of Tim’s health.
As is common for the GSD breed, he has severe arthritis in his hips - the vet stated his is the worst case he has ever seen. In spite of this, he doesn’t seem to be in pain but does exhibit weakness in his hind legs requiring frequent rest breaks and assistance with step-ups. He was given a short term regimen of steroids to help with any inflammation related to the arthritis.
The other concern was his continued weight loss even though Tim has a great appetite and has not had any vomiting or diarrhea. The X-ray revealed 2-3 objects (the largest being about quarter sized) in his lower abdomen. It is suspected he has swallowed something either rock, metal or bone. He was given an antibiotic as a precaution in case there was any infection present.
Monday’s visit was to repeat the X-ray to monitor the object(s) and discuss where to go from here. The smaller objects have moved and will likely pass but the larger object was still in the same place.
In light of that fact, the recommendation is a scope procedure to attempt to remove whatever it is to avoid the possibility of a perforation and to ensure all the nutrients he needs are being processed and absorbed to start gaining weight. His diet will also be changed to further necessitate the weight gain.
Last Friday’s bill was $248.50
Monday’s bill was $60.00
The scope procedure estimate is between $500-600
Therefore, I am asking if anyone can PLEASE help with Tim’s medical costs to get this guy headed in a healthier direction, he and I would certainly be extremely grateful. (Unfortunately, I cannot set his appointment for the procedure until the money is available to cover it.)
A healthier Tim means a giant leap towards being able to find his forever home to live out the rest of his senior years.

First off, I want to say a huge THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to Kari Freeny McGee, James Edwards, and Pamela J Edwards, along with the rest of the Remo’s crew who helped Miss Tot when she was found.
Kari, like so many others, you had a lot on your plate but you didn’t let her down.
James and Pam, thank you for finding her pups and getting them all to safety so they could get the help they needed & their momma could finally live a life off the streets.
We could not have done any of this without y’all and I honestly cannot say I would be doing what I do today if it weren’t for y’all helping Tot and allowing her to be placed into my life.
To all the others who have helped me along the way, locally and beyond (there are too many wonderful people and organizations to name) THANK YOU ALL!!
Rescue is a community and networking effort where we rely on each other to get the best outcome for these helpless animals.
