I see posts and read people who say stalling horses is not natural etc

Well.... My spoiled brats will fight and bang on stall doors to GET IN if I close them.... to take their naps and quiet time.

Mostly 22 yr old Merlot who was born in that barn. - meaning that's HIS barn, just ask him.

I leave the barn open to the fields so they come and go and it's very common that they are in ( sometimes 3 in one 12x12 stall 🙄 ) and get irritated if I go make them move.

So last week I went to feed in the south barn (Donika, Merlie, Gytha and Peanut) and while carrying 4 flakes of hay, i tripped and fell in the breezeway. Fell forward on the hay but was a WTH moment.
My 51yr old butt layed there for a minute...mad.... That I tripped over my own feet. All the horses just stood there (they were not in stalls).
Donika and DeeDee came over and nudged me but that was only to tell me to get off her hay so they could eat. I grabbed on to Donika leg and shoulder and pulled myself up (they never moved or stopped eating). Good ol Mama D.
I dust myself off and look at Merlie who looks confused. Gytha standing back because she had noooo idea what up. And the QH Peanut with her ears back and mad because I wasn't moving fast enough with the food.

Getting older sucks....

Teach your children to have respect and manners.
If a young person (or adult...) is sitting on the sidelines laughing at another rider or making fun of riders in any way, it's a failure in parenting.
