As the temperatures plunge, it's crucial to prioritize the well-being of our four-legged companions. Here's a serious reminder on keeping your animals safe in freezing temperatures:

1️⃣ Shelter is Non-Negotiable: Ensure your pets have access to a well-insulated and dry shelter. Cold weather can be life-threatening, especially for those without a refuge. If your pets must stay outside during this time, make sure they have plenty of hay in their shelter to keep them warm. Blankets will not keep them warm during freezing temperatures.

2️⃣ Layer for Protection: For pets with short fur or less insulation, consider protective clothing. Sweaters or jackets aren't just fashion – they can be a lifesaver in extreme cold.

3️⃣ Limit Outdoor Exposure: Frostbite and hypothermia are real dangers. Keep outdoor activities brief, especially during severe weather conditions.

4️⃣ Paw Care is Essential: Salt and ice can cause serious damage to paw pads. Check and clean your pet's paws after outdoor excursions to prevent injuries.

Dear pet parents:

As you may have heard, there is an unknown respiratory illness going around among dogs. In order to keep all members of Hey PAWPI’s pack safe- I am asking that if your fur baby is showing any signs of this illness such as coughing or fever that you notify me ‼️IMMEDIATELY‼️

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
It is recommended to keep your fur babies away from places where dogs congregate such as dog parks and boarding facilities to keep them from contracting the illness.

WHAT AM I DOING?
I also want to reassure you that I will be taking precautions such as wearing dispossable booties that are changed between each client, cleaning and disinfecting myself, gear, and supplies, and changing and cleaning clothes as much as possible.

I’ve had my eye on Valentine for a few days now. I can’t stop thinking about her! Unfortunately our CFO (aka my furbaby) thrives as an only child.

Somebody in our pack needs to adopt this sweet baby girl so I can come spend time with her- PRETTY PLEASE!

Introducing this GORGEOUS girl Valentine!
Valentine came to us from the Pasadena Animal Shelter after the tornado ripped through their building at the beginning of this year. Valentine has been with us for 295 days with very little interest. She is awesome and we hope someone falls in love with her soon! She is dog friendly, very nice girl and super smart! Valentine needs a yard to run and play in, she would be a perfect friend to take hiking with you, or even teach her cool tricks so you can impress your friends with such a cool dog that you adopted! Valentine is the whole package, and we have a goal to find her forever home before the holidays!
Valentine is about 4 years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, dog friendly and more than ready for a nice warm bed of her own in her amazing future home! Come meet Valentine, we are open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm.
