It's time to get back into the show scene!

We are planning on attending the WE shows in Feb (21-23), April 25-27, May 16-18, and June.
I will once again have some "rent a horse" options for those wanting to ride who don't have a horse.
Most of these shows at OHC also offer a clinic with Kimberlee Barker and you'd also be welcome to borrow a horse for that too if you'd like.
200 for the weekend and you are responsible for your entry and stall fees.
I do ask that riders come to the farm and have a trial ride/and or lesson(s) on said available horses so we make sure its a good fit. Exceptions can be made for out of state riders should they have enough experience.

I will have more horses available as I get more of our mares tuned up and to shows this year.

Alix and possibly Amaro are available for the Feb show.
For more advanced riders I do have a couple other horses available too. (Flame, Star)

To prep for these i am going to once again try to organize doing some before and after clinics too.
If you've read this far shoot a comment to tell me what weekends might work for clinic dates.

2022 Cheval Canadien Mare.
15h. Mature height estimated to be around 15.2.
Has been handled since a yearling...ponied, in-hand trail etc.
Learned about tack, harness, and ground driving, long-lining, this fall and has happily taken to having a job. Most of her work to date has been ground work, but we have been adding works here and there with carrying a rider.
She knows her turns and general maneuvering, basic lateral yielding, rein-back.
Ridden western and english. Has experience being ponied out on trails. Photos will be added once she has been ridden out on trails.
She takes everything in stride and confidently. Super easy going and brave with everything that has been asked of her to date.
An extra possible bonus being a mare, and not one of our Amaro or Iconic babies, is she can be bred to either of our boys shoulder her buyer be interested.

UTD on everything including dental. Ties, bathes, will soon be familiar with body clippers.

Currently 12 carrots. Will increase as training and experiences progress.

2021 Cheval Canadien Gelding *FS!*
15.2. Will finish around 16h
Black with a small grouping of white hairs under forelock....not quite a star.
Green started. Needs confident/experienced rider to continue his training. Very smooth ride and easy gaits. Soft sensitive ride.
Knows basic lateral work, forehand turns, haunch turns and reinback.
Ties, trailers, bathes, good for farrier, uts on vacc, deworming, teeth etc. Will soon learn about clipping.

12 carrots right now. Will be more once he has show experience and training progresses. pm for more information.

Well, unfortunately it's that time of year. Cold, wet and gross. Also the time of year we have power outages. So this is a quick reminder that when we have no power or internet, we are totally off grid since we have no reliable cell service. Text sometimes goes through but for whatever reason, that seemed to be linked to the power today too and we had zero cell service till the power came on. Riddle me that. I don't know....

Better late, than not! We got one last baby dot confirmation yesterday for Flame and Iconic!

One of the devastating factors with losing our Ilixar was we lost the foal she was carrying for 2025 as well. (Still just gutted over this).
This would make GGs foal an only child and for proper social skills we really don't like having just one foal. So Flame stepped up to the plate and we bred her with Iconic so we will still have one Amaro baby and one Iconic baby for 2025.
Flame is Lumieres momma and we were super thrilled with that combo so we are really looking forward to seeing what the Iconic combo makes!

ISO Horse Size Double Bridle!
Anybody here have one that's just sitting around and needs to be used/rehomed?
Going to do a quick reach-out here first before shopping... With plans to get back into the show ring with Amaro this coming show season, we had a FANTASTIC couple lessons with Pippa this weekend and were given some homework to work on. One of the asks was to get back into the double. Mine unfortunately is broken, and while is being repaired, it will likely stay a schooling bridle now.
I don't like the huge noseband style or a lot of stitching. Less is more on the boy. Ideally the noseband would be able to be removed if wanted...( I school at home without nosebands most of the time).
I loved my Portuguese one which was just a black flat bridle.

Another fun little update...
Teigan has been showing some consistent interest is doing more with the horses independently! I think we might be seeing him step into the competitive scene here soon! In the mean time we will slowly be doing some lessons for some specific fine tuning and control work. Part of that is getting instruction from other people too!
Yesterday he went and had his first official lesson on working cows. He's played before so he's somewhat familiar, but the one on one work was good to focus on distance, and placement, turns, and how that relates to pressure and therefore, movement.
Here he was asked to work the rail to move the whole herd and then stop the herd. He also worked a little on working individual cows doing the same thing.

I am LOVING seeing my babies out doing things now!
Miss Halo has found her confidence working cows! Mira has done a great job with her! Halo was our only "only child" we have had. She was foaled right after we bought the farm and we really were not set up well for a foal, so she and Dolce were in their own paddock to keep them safe and she was Dolce's first foal...which meant Halo never really got socialized well and has had some struggles with that and confidence.
Many trail miles and now some cow work and she's getting the saddle horse thing down!
