🐾 Meet Jack (short for Jaehaerys) 🐾

Looking for a sweet, snuggly, medium-sized sidekick with just the right amount of goof and chill? Meet Jack, a 2.5-year-old husky with a heart of gold and a touch of shyness that melts into cuddles once he gets to know you.

🐶 Quick Facts:
* Age: 2.5 years
* Weight: 42 lbs
* Breed: Husky
* Size: On the smaller side of medium
* Vaccinations: Up to date
* Neutered: Appointment scheduled 7/15
* House-trained: Almost perfect and likely to improve fully post-neuter.
* Crate-trained: He will use it if absolutely necessary, but doesn’t like it. He has done extremely well gated in the kitchen at his foster home!
* Energy level: Medium — playful, but loves to lounge

💕 Personality:
Jack may be a little reserved at first, but give him a few moments and he’ll be leaning into you for snuggles. He’s incredibly sweet and affectionate — a true cuddle bug at heart. He enjoys tug-of-war, wrestling with his husky foster sister, and sprawling out for naps (especially if he can nap on you!).

🐕 Social Skills:
* Dogs: Jack loves playing with his foster sister and all of his friends at daycare!
* Cats: He’s lived with a cat before but has not been tested by the rescue. He’s unbothered by a backyard bunny that drives his foster sister crazy though!
* Kids: Kids are fine, he just needs them to go slowly at first, same thing with big people.
* People: Initially shy but warms up quickly — he’s a gentle, loving soul.

🎓 Training & Leash Info:
Jack appears to have had some prior training — he knows “sit”, “lay down,” “paw”, “spin” and is quickly picking up more thanks to his food motivation and smarts. On leash, he’s a bit timid in new situations, so his foster mom uses a harness for extra safety. With some patience and positive reinforcement, he’s sure to gain confidence.

Jack would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands huskies and is willing to go at his pace. A friendly canine companion would be a bonus! He’d love a mix of play and quiet cuddle time, and a family that can help him keep building confidence and trust.

We, the Oswego County SPCA have managed to keep adoption fees at just $75 for cats and $100 for kittens. We believe every animal deserves a loving forever home, and cost should never be a barrier to making that possible for approved applicants.

What is included you ask? Cats come tested for feline leukemia & FIV, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Kittens come tested for feline leukemia & FIV, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, spayed or neutered (once old enough) and microchipped.

One: we are NOT open tomorrow
Two: lunar new year tarot readings on Wednesday!
I realized last week that I forgot to actually change a couple things on the calendar: we are NOT open tomrorow. That is from the December new years eve that I forgot to delete. Please. I just want to clean in peace for a bit.
We will also have Erin offering lunar new year tarot readings all day! Readings start at $10. If youve been feeling off last week, there was a complete planetary alignment on Saturday (my anxiety’s been screaming, hence those weird motivational post its in my story a few days ago). Stop by anytime on Wednesday to hve your cards pulled!
