I feel bad that our President didn’t have the family support to help him through this time in his life. It’s possible that his “dementia “ is only normal age related forgetfulness. But if they really loved him they would have protected his dignity by helping him bow out with grace. Now it’s too late. The entire world is aware of his struggles. It didn’t have to be that way. He deserved better. 😔

Well Mosey just left with his new family. It’s time to take the gates down until next spring. It’s always a good feeling to know each puppy is going to a good family♥️
Our other dogs are going to love getting back to “normal”. Me, well, it usually takes me a couple of weeks to adjust 🫤

Well this little gal went of to Canada this morning with her new papa. She was too excited to get her picture with the Canada day scarf but she sure looks good in her red white and blue!! So I am posting her most embarrassing baby pictures 😉

This pretty baby went to live with her new family yesterday. Such a pretty girl.
I’m not sure why but our girls are finding homes a lot faster than our boys.

Gerties puppies had their final vet visit today and all went remarkably well!! It was a bit like herding butterflies (9 puppies) getting them ready to go but they behaved like sweet little puppies at the vet!! We still have some available for adoption. The first to find homes will be meeting their families this weekend.

I think Gertie is happy to be getting a break from these hungry guys. She just visits 3 times a day now that they are starting on puppy soup!😊

Finally another nice day to go outside!

During the eclipse our dogs started grazing like sheep 😳

Gertie’s puppies ate their first puppy mush today and I think they got the zoomies! They sure were happy and actually started playing with the toys. ( two of her puppies are nursing with the smaller litter) I think it’s about time to leave the whelping box and move to the big house! They are so funny at this stage 🤣

Gertie’s six boys. 4 weeks tomorrow. I guess they didn’t want to wake up so early😊

Here are Annie’s puppies. They just opened their eyes this past week!

Gertie’s puppies are now three weeks old. They are starting to walk and learning to play. Such a fun age!!

Welcome to the world babies! Annie had her litter yesterday on Groundhog’s Day. 4 males and one female. She is Gertie’s sister. We are all done having puppies for 2024. Now the fun begins!!!

The puppies are one week old today! I normally do not put collars on the puppies at this age but with such a big litter, I am keeping a close watch on their weights. All are gaining steadily! Why do puppies twitch? Are they dreaming or does twitching actually have a functional purpose - "activated sleep" helps build muscle and form the connections that will allow the puppies to develop motor coordination. According to a study at the University of Iowa. I don’t know for sure but I could watch them for hours😊

Gertie seems to have figured out how to feed 10 puppies. She has divided them into two equal groups! She is such a smart girl!!

They are here! Gertie had a record setting litter of 10 puppies. We have been raising Wheatens for 12 years and haven’t had this many in a litter. 7 boys and 3 girls. She is going to be eating a lot of fat balls and boiled eggs along with her puppy food! She is one busy momma.
