A mother’s love knows no bounds, even in the face of fear and uncertainty.
Today, we welcomed Bev and her six 2-day-old kittens into our care, rescuing them from a dire fate at the shelter.
Labeled as ‘feral’ and deemed untouchable, Bev’s story could have ended tragically.
But within just an hour of patience, compassion, and a gentle touch, she began to trust. This beautiful mama cat, who had no medical records due to her perceived wildness, now allows me to stroke her and tend to her precious babies.
As we work to provide Bev with the veterinary care, cleaning, and comfort she desperately needs, I can’t help but wonder: How many other ‘feral’ animals have lost their lives simply because they weren’t given a chance? A little time, a lot of love, and a quiet space can work wonders.
At Because of Brucey, we believe every life deserves a chance. Bev and her kittens are safe now, but there are countless others waiting for that same opportunity. Meet Sweet Little U-Haul, a resilient angel who was abandoned at just 24 hours old with his brother. They were found in a U-Haul parking lot, still with their umbilical cords attached and covered in ants. Despite efforts to save both, his brother tragically passed away after three weeks due to the severe ant bites and a twisted stomach. Now, U-Haul thrives, a testament to his brother’s sacrifice😭.
