Spring time means “kitten season”. While we strong encourage neutering (spay/castration), along with TNR (trap, neuter, release), kittens still will be born no matter how careful we are. So, just a few reminders. If you are worried mom won’t come back, check on the kittens every so many hours, place up a camera to watch, or put a ring of baking soda around, and watch for mom’s foot steps. No need to worry until after the 24 - 48 hour mark of no mom.

With Easter and other spring time panting and holidays coming, here is a reminder that ALL lilies are toxic to cats (even the ones that will claim are not can mildly be). Please make sure to keep them far from your feline friends.

With Thanksgiving approaching, we just wanted to give out some safe vs toxic food for those cooking at home with animals. While your pets’ NORMAL diet of dog or cat food is best, they do make special pet food for the holidays, and can food or a treat is always best to go with, if you do decide to give them some human food, make sure it’s safe. If your pet gets into any toxic food, make sure to cal your regular vet or your closest emergency veterinary clinic ASAP for what to do next. Everyone have a safe and happy holiday! 🦃

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. To all those that we have lost, we remember you, and miss you, and hope to see you again at the rainbow bridge. Take a moment of silence to those animals that we have meet and those that changed our lives.

Hopefully everyone has a safe holiday, and all your pets stay safe, too. Make sure to have a nice place for them to hide, and make as quiet as possible with sounds they know such as the radio and/or TV. Another good reason for microchips and collars with tags JUST in case something happens.

I'm super excited to share this post! I have been working on this for a long time. I wanted to first give a shout out to my inspirations if I may. I was inspired to create this after seeing the awesome Play Infographic work of Doggie Drawings by Lili Chin and Dr. Mikel Delgado of What Your Cat Wants, but that inspiration combined with getting to know .png’s art really brought it together. This is the same artist who has created images for my Fundamentally Feline t-shirts and other swag items. She is so talented! My hope is to bring you an entire series of these on a variety of topics (in all of my spare time!)

Did you know that today is National Siamese Cat Day (April 6th)?! While not a “pure breed” Siamese, you sure can see some in this big, Takaru (TK)! Found as a kitten with a bad skin and ear infection and mostly blind, we took him in to heal and rehome, but he soon became a foster fail. Can you see why?

Sadly “kitten season” is upon us. Just a visual reminder on why spaying and castrating is so important. Neuter those cats BEFORE they have kittens and a problem of over population over takes your area. If you have a wild kitty that lives outside, too into TNR programs and low cost spay/neuter around you (TNR = trap-neuter-release). Controlling over population protects the environment, and helps each cat live a healthy, happy, and longer life.
