I'm very Impatiently waiting... waiting on Does to kindle, waiting on several to leave for new homes and free up cage space, waiting to evaluate Juniors to determine if they are something I want to potentially add to my show string and fill up those empty cages, lol, just waiting...

I thought I would share my pairings I am currently waiting on..
Just for fun... these will most likely be my last litters until Fall. Considering today is already above 80, it's just going to be too hot.
1. PROMISE (Br.Bl) and ARAGON (W), due 3/27
2. SAPPHIRE (Bl) and CRUZ (Bl), due 3/29
3. ALOHA (W) and ARAGON (W), due 3/29
4. EDEN (Bl) and HARDY (Br. Bl), due 3/30
5. CHAVA (Bl) and HARDY (Br. Bl), due 3/30
6. ATTY (R) and RHETT (R)
I'm pretty confident in Promise, Sapphire, and Aloha being pregnant. I'm totally unconvinced that Chava, Eden or Atty are bred.. we shall see. Both Chava and Eden and nest building so I HOPE! I REALLY want to see Hardy babies.
Just adding some pics of my does and bucks so you can all be excited with me..
Cruz is leaving for his new home this weekend and I am considering looking for a new blue buck later on to Cross with my Broken does if I do not get one out of these litters I want to hold onto. I have one little boy I'm watching so far.. If he can just grow into himself.. he is just 9 weeks old, so has a lot of growing to do yet. I get him out every couple of days to practice posing, just to get him used to being handled.

Had to take a little baby break to try and settle my nerves in the wake of these pending storms.. I do not do very well in bad weather.. been there done that as they say..
Anyway, lots of prayers, and thought I would share a few of these precious pictures in hopes that they soothe your soul as much as they do mine

03/15/2025

Praying hard for our safety ahead of these coming storms. Prayers for all my family and friends and all the other amazing rabbitries and Homesteads in the path of these storms. I don't remember the last time we were at a level 5 for potential storm severity. It definitely makes me anxious. I worry about all my new babies.

Dear Lord place your hand of protection over those of us here in Georgia in the path of these storms and those in the entire South East who might be in the path. I pray that you keep my loved ones, friends, and animals safe.

Feeling a little better each day.. still can't take a deep breath..I decided to go back down to check my bunnies this evening and share some carrot and Celery greens left over from dinner.
I'm so very happy to see that Attys three remaining babies are doing so well now. They are terribly cute, heck they all are. I turned Dreams box on its side, because someone was getting awfully nosey. I was afraid she would get out and be unable to get back in. Then like it was on cue, she promptly peed all over me. 😑😂. Oh well, it's not the first time and Definitely will not be the last time.
Look at the size of that little butterball..🥰

Thought I would share the first pictures of Apples healthy, Chunky littles babies. So excited to see these babies in a few weeks. Hopefully we have a Jr. Show prospect is there.... I'm really liking the way her two little bucks from her last litter are looking. I had decided I wasn't keeping either of them (one is already sold) but I might be changing my mind lol... no harm in hanging on to him for a while to see how he grows.. Right? Of course looking at my 'hold back' list is a little scary at the moment.. lol
I currently have the Red buck from Apple and Rhett, the Blue buck, 2 Black bucks and Blue doe from Sapphire and Aragon, the Blue doe, Black Doe, and White doe from Chava and Aragon, and the 2 White does and 2 White bucks from Aloha and Aragon that are all between 6 and 9 weeks. Then I have 2 Broken Black does and a Broken Black buck from Dream and Aragon, 3 remaining red does from Atty and Rhett, 6 Red/Booted Red from Lyric and Baron and 5 Reds from Apple and Rhett that are all 2 weeks or less. I also have 6 Booted Red, a Red doe and a Red buck from a previous Lyric/Baron litter and Star/Baron litter that I will not be retaining. They are amazing babies with nice growth rates, they just are not show quality for one reason or another. Lastly I have my two Junior girls Zara (Blanket Red and Mimzy (Broken Black) that I am just watching to see how they are looking. Both have things I really like and things I do not like.. so I'm just hanging on to them for now to let them get through the 'uglies' and see what we end up with. This is my first year really focused on improving my Herd, doing my best to stick as closelyas possible yo the Breeds SOP and hard culling those I feel will not be suitable as Show stock or Meat brood stock. I have made some really hard cuts and there are more to come. It's hard to try and keep emotions out of it and make the necessary decisions to improve.. I think I have 41 babies to evaluate and make decisions on.. some due to legs not being straight or low/slow growth, I already know are 'No's', others I just need to let them Grow some more and see how they look at about 16 weeks.
Baron, Cruz, Scarlet, Phoenix and 3 babies will be leaving me toward the end of the month and despite already missing them (especially Cruz) I am excited for their new adventures.
I have a few more does to kindle the end of the month, then we are done until Fall. So lots to keep me busy busy! Y'all say a prayer I can stick to my guns and make the decisions I need to make without allowing my emotions to over rule.

As upset as I was yesterday, I do feel a little better today and it does my heart good to see the three remaining Atty babies doing so well with their Foster moms.
Let me just say that Dream is a ROCK STAR of a mom to be a first timer! I am so very proud of her.
Lyric is also an AMAZING mom, I had actually decided to sell her, but I think I am going to hang onto her at least through the Fall and try crossing her with Rhett and see if I still have the same issues with the scattered white hairs. She is such a nice doe, and as hard as really good mothers are to come by, I just hate to let her go yet..
I checked all my babies this morning, and started weaning Chavas babies. I snapped a few quick pictures to show you the difference a good doe makes...I will label each picture..

I HATE when I make a mistake and my animals pay for it.. I always want to be upfront and share my successes and my failures.. anyone who raises animals no matter what kind and says they never have bad days, it quite honestly lying to you. It's inevitable.
I have mentioned my latest musical mama drama.. Atty kindled on 3/1 so did Dream. Atty had 6 that I noticed right away were VERY small, but attributed it to her first litter and the fact that it was a large litter. Dream (also her first litter) had only 3 and they were easily double the size of Attys. I took one from Atty and fostered it with Dream giving her 4 and Atty 5.. the next day I just watched them.. on day three I took 2 more of the smallest ones and gave them to Dream. Lyric and Apple kindled on the 8th. Lyric had 6 and Apple had 5, they are both experienced and are fantastic mothers. I took 1 more from Atty leaving her 2, 2 from Dream leaving her 4 and gave 1 to Lyric and 2 to Apple giving them each 7 (lol I think that's right). I have the flu and have been miserable. Maybe I'm making excuses, but I honestly think if I had felt better I would have taken more time to really evaluate them all and would have pulled them ALL from Atty.. unfortunately I didn't and I found the two left with Atty and the last one I pulled from her yesterday didn't make it. They CLEARLY starved. I think the smallest I pulled yesterday was just too far gone. I breaks my heart and I'm seriously kicking myself for not pulling them sooner. The three remaining from Atty are doing great now that they have moms that are feeding them properly.
After I get over this garbage, I will breed Atty back to Rhett and give her another chance.. I'm really hoping it was just her inexperience and that she will figure it out next time.
For now I'm trying to be positive and thankful that I still have 3 healthy, NOW fat little red babies...

03/10/2025

This Morning Apple blessed me with 5 gorgeous, fat little red babies. These are Apple (Red) x Rhett (Red) babies. I can't wait to see them in a few weeks. I really hope I get at least one show prospect. These are my last babies until the end of the month when I have the following crosses due..
Chava (Blue) x Cruz (Blue)
Sapphire (Blue) x Cruz (Blue)
Eden (Blue) x Cruz (Blue)
Aloha (White) x Aragon (White)
Promise (Broken Blue) x Hardy (Broken Blue)
Once These ladies kindle, I'm done until Fall.. I'm really excited to have more Hardy Litters..
I will definitely be pairing him with Aloha, Dream, Promise, Eden, Sapphire and Chava this Fall.

Currently have kits from the following pairings
4 Star (Red) x Baron (Broken Red)
7 Apple (Red) x Rhett (Red)
5 Sapphire (Blue) x Aragon (White)
9 Lyric (Red) x Baron (Broken Red)
4 Chava (Blue) x Aragon (White)
4 Aloha (White) x Aragon (White)
3 Dream (Broken Black) x Aragon (White)
6 Atty (Red) x Rhett (Red)
Some have already moved on to their homes, some will be held back to see how they mature, and others will be available as Farmstead/ Meat brood stock.

We welcomed another litter today. These are Lyric (Red) x Baron (Broken Red) babies. She did great, and had 6 healthy babies. 2 Solid red, both bucks I think, and 4 Booted Reds, 3 does one buck, lol, again I think. At this age all I can do is make an educated guess. Attys litter (born 3/1) is not doing well. I pulled 4 of the 6, 2 fostered to Dream (also kindled 3/1), 2 fostered to Lyric and the other 2 left with Atty for the moment. This seems very similar to what happened to Star, she started out great and then her kits just seemed to start fading. I did not have another doe that I could foster kits to so I had to intervene myself and bottle supplement her babies. I do not want to give anymore to Dream because I have high hopes for her litter and do not want to take away from them.. if worse comes to worse I will either foster the other two to Lyric or will bring them inside and do my best for them..Apple was also due today, but hasn't kindled yet. If she doesn't have too large a litter, I can perhaps give the last 2 to her.
Some would say, just leave Attys alone and if they survive they do, if not, just try again... but I cannot in good conscious give up on them as long as THEY are fighting.
I have pictures below of one of Dreams and one of Atty's born at almost the exact same time.. then I have a picture of one of Atty's now a week old beside one of Lyrics Newborns. Then just a picture of one of Atty's to show how thin they are.

WELCOME HOME HARDY!
I feel like I have been waiting for this boy to arrive forever! I can't wait until he has settled in and I Can really show him off. He is Gorgeous and I am beyond excited to see what he produces with my girls. I'm not sure if Eden is pregnant or not, if not, she will be the first to be paired with him. Soooo excited! Not crazy about his name on his pedigree but decided to make the best of it lol... pedigreed name is SHOWTOWN'S HAR HAR, so meet Hardy.
THANK YOU Missy Poznaniak and Angela Wilson for making this possible! Thank you also to his breeder for allowing me to purchase this handsome boy. He will be much loved and such a huge asset to my program!

A BONUS! I Bred Atty last month but was CONVINCED she didn't take. She surprised me with 6 healthy red babies this morning. Feels nice after losing the two from Dream. These are Atty x Rhett babies.
I forgot to get pics of the babies when I counted.. trust that there will be pictures in the coming days.

My beautiful Dream kindled this morning. She had 5 GORGEOUS broken black babies. Unfortunately two were cold when I found them. I'm in the process of trying to rewarm them. I'm almost positive I'm too late, but I'm not giving up until they are at least WARM.
I'm very proud of Dream, she built a lovely nest and pulled lots of hair. The three who were in the bottom of the nest seem lively and are doing well.
I was very excited about this pairing.
It was Dream x Aragon.. two of my absolute best rabbits. I cannot wait to watch these babies grow and see how they mature.
Prayers would be appreciated for these two cold little ones..
