We want to give a big shoutout to El Morro Elementary School! They recently held a dog toy making event benefiting Unconditional, and so many kids participated! They used every last bit of the material to make as many dog toys as possible for our Unconditional dogs. They also had a supply drive for things such as blankets, leashes, collars, toys, etc. Some of the kids even saved up their money to purchase things themselves to donate to our dogs 🥹 Thank you to the kind hearted staff, kids, parents, and everyone else at El Morro Elementary! Together, we are changing the world and improving the lives of countless senior and special needs dogs 💛

Hagrid will add so much love to any household he joins. He loves to curl up on your lap for a nice long nap and would make an excellent family member for someone who either isn’t that active or doesn’t have time for multiple walks per day.

He’s still getting his signature Unconditional glow-up, so he’s not quite ready to be adopted yet. But if you are interested in being the first person notified when he’s available, please let us know!

Good News! Wilma has been adopted 💛 Her adopter, who has since renamed her Amber, wanted a “greeter dog” to say hello to his many friends and visitors, and Amber’s sweet personality made her a perfect match! Congratulations to Amber and her new family!

Hi everyone! We are trying to find a new foster for our sweet girl, Wilma. She is a 10 year old German Shepherd and is a total love bug. She enjoys going on walks, playing with her toys, and sleeping the day away by your side. Other dogs make her nervous so we would like her to go to a foster home that does not have any other dogs!

Meet Wilma!

We’re not quite sure how Wilma landed at the Downey shelter, but she was there for about two months when we learned about her on her scheduled euthanasia date. All the stars were aligned… we locked in a foster, gave our vet a heads up, and went to get her. And she’s been our perfect little princess ever since!

So polite on a leash, a quiet angel in the car, friendly and relaxed with new people… it feels like we hit the jackpot with Wilma. She even knows “sit!” She’s pretty scared of other dogs so it’s best if she stays away from them and is the only furbaby in the house.

Her bloodwork looks great and the vet gives her a big gold star. We know she’s going to make one lucky family very happy this Spring. Are you ready to meet her?

Surprise!! Spudd has been adopted 🥳🐾

You may be wondering “who is Spudd?” right about now, and the reason you don’t recognize him is because he got adopted so fast, we didn’t even have time to think about posting him! It’s definitely a good problem to have 😂😅 He actually broke our record for fastest adoption (4 days) 👏🏼 We are so happy for Spudd and his new family! Let’s break that record again! 💛

This is Bunny, the happiest and most easy going little lady you’ll ever meet. She’s described by her foster as “the ultimate chiller” and would make an excellent addition to any household.

On top of being super mellow, Bunny’s also potty trained and has been great with every dog we’ve introduced her to.

Of course she wasn’t going to go back without him 🤪 He has a big yard and a doggy sibling awaiting his arrival at home! Congratulations Boots! 💛

Meet Arya, the 8 month old Samoyed/Husky Ice Princess 🤍❄️

Not only is Arya beautiful, but she is also sweet, loving, calm, trusting, and so much more. Oh, and did we mention she’s also good with other dogs and children? Yeah, she’s basically perfect.

When Arya gets extremely overwhelmed or overstimulated, she can sometimes have a seizure. But don’t worry, they appear to be mild and she has not needed any prescription medication for it!
