Sometimes we all need that reminder that life’s challenges can be overcome.

‼️We need your help.

Jake and Polar are Heartlands very first horses we had ever got to bring home. Jake was found after our family had a lot of tragic events happen and he was there and healed our family. Now he’s healing kids and other family’s from all over.
Polar was rescued from a neglectful situation. She was over bred and super skinny when she came to us. They both have their forever home with us and we can’t thank them both enough for all the loves they have not only showed us but all of you!

Jake and Polar are getting older, which means problems with their teeth can come up more often. Making sure a horses mouth is in good condition is so important. If they have bad teeth that can cause them to have trouble keeping weight on. Them being older it’s a priority for us to make sure we help them stay in the best shape possible and keeping them comfortable.

After their spring vet check we found out they are going to need a few teeth pulled and some other X-rays to make sure there is no underlying problems. On MAY 6th! This is going to be a pretty penny for heartland and we are reaching out to our community for donations.
$4,000 is what we are looking at and anything your able to donate helps us tremendously! We have about $1,000 saved but still need $3,000 And Whole lot of prayer!! Thank you so much for all your support, we couldn’t do this without all of you🤍

How to donate: right here on Facebook Or visit www.HeartlandCommunityFarms.com click on “make a donation” and then “plant a seed”

Yesterday we started our spring sessions. We always arrive prepared to greet our participants with an hour of activities we believe will move mountains. More often then not, the participant and the rescued animal create a whole new agenda. These are the moments where we stand in awe at just how good our God is.

The health of our herd is a top priority and today was spring check-up day for the Heartland horses! After nearly 5 hours of basically “watching” we can’t thank Dr Tucker & Jill @ Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic enough for all that they do for our guys! 💜. Y’all are the best.

(Wish we took more pictures!) 😂. Below is our Polar Bear getting her teeth floated (removing sharp points from her molars).

Fall 2023 I felt the Lord saying “take a 2 month pause.” The thought of pausing our time with the faces we get to see week after week, made my heart a little weary. My human brain needed to rationalize so all on my own I came up with “Wisconsin winters are cold and Wisconsin winters on an open farm can be brutal!” Must save the children! 🥶

What I didn’t realize last October was that Wisconsin was going to experience one of the warmest winters in history! And what I didn’t realize was the pause had nothing to do with protecting the kids and families we serve from frostbite, it had everything to do with protecting my marriage.

I am so passionate about Heartland and the love that flows through it. I am passionate about the horses and most importantly the beautiful souls that come and experience God’s love.

I was so focused on what God had placed on my heart, I lost focus on who God placed in my life, my husband. He has been a champion right along side me; supporting, encouraging and praying for the person he loves the absolute most on this planet, me. Is it possible that after nearly 30 years of marriage, we could be on different playing fields? The answer: absolutely.

God had business to do with us. He so gracefully showed us how to balance this new season together. God showed us where we got off course. We ultimately were “manhandling” this ship with the best of intentions, but that wasn’t our job, it’s His. 💜

Just like our marriage, Heartland is no longer existing because of our tireless efforts, although we still have our days. We have never been stronger, more organized, supported and ready then we are today.

Heartland is now operating out of God’s overflow. Exactly how He intended. 💜

We strongly encourage everyone to take a pause, just 5 min. You will be in awe at what you hear back. God wants to overflow in all areas of your life too!

I stopped by my son, Cody’s house on my way to the barn last night. My stinky, muddy boots raised some awareness! 😂

01/31/2024

A pastor asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast.
"Lord, I hate buttermilk", the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going.
The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned.
Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't much care for raw white flour". The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable.
Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen."
Within that prayer there is great wisdom for all when it comes to complicated situations like we are experiencing in the world today.
Stay strong, my friends, because our LORD is mixing several things that we don't really care for, but something even better is going to come when HE is done with it. AMEN! 🙏❤️

So often when we find ourselves in difficult times where the last thing we want to do is “talk about it”.

This is one reason why what we provide works. Silent communication between a human and a horse is powerful. It starts with trust and ends in breakthrough. At that very second, true healing begins. 💜

"Today was a Difficult Day," said Pooh.
There was a pause.
"Do you want to talk about it?" asked Piglet.
"No," said Pooh after a bit. "No, I don't think I do."
"That's okay," said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend.
"What are you doing?" asked Pooh.
"Nothing, really," said Piglet. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don't feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either.
"But goodness," continued Piglet, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you've got someone there for you. And I'll always be here for you, Pooh."
And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs...he thought that his best friend had never been more right."

And yes, I keep them all!

Every once in a while, a ewe will give birth to a lamb and reject it. There are many reasons she may do this. If the lamb is returned to the ewe, the mother may even kick the poor animal away. Once a ewe rejects one of her lambs, she will never change her mind.
These little lambs will hang their heads so low that it looks like something is wrong with its neck. Their spirit is broken.
These lambs are called “bummer lambs.” Unless the Shepherd intervenes, that lamb will die, rejected and alone. So, do you know what the Shepherd does?
He takes that rejected little one into His home, hand-feeds it and keeps it warm by the fire. He will wrap it up with blankets and hold it to His chest so the bummer can hear His heartbeat. Once the lamb is strong enough, the Shepherd will place it back in the field with the rest of the flock.
But that sheep never forgets how the Shepherd cared for him when his mother rejected him. When the Shepherd calls for the flock, guess who runs to Him first?
That is right, the bummer sheep. He knows His voice intimately.
It is not that the bummer lamb is loved more, it just knows intimately the One who loves it and has experienced that love one on one.
So many of us are bummer lambs, rejected and broken. But He is the good Shepherd. He cares for our every need and holds us close to His heart so we can hear His heartbeat.
I am a bummer lamb adopted and loved
by The Good Shepherd!! ❤ ❤ ❤ Hallelujah!!
