We have a local celebrity! “Trade Marque” visited our clinic today to get coggins and a health certificate. He will be traveling to Pasadena in a few weeks to take part in the famous rose parade!!! We wish him and his owners, Sheri and Dan Odom safe travels to California! We can’t wait to see him in his fancy parade attire! Watch for “Trade Marque” in the televised parade on New Years!

Your not so usual Thursday at the WAHS clinic! Our team castrated “Mr. Peanut Butter” the registered spot pig for young Tanner. He will be headed to the state fair hog show in October! We wish him the best of luck with his project and we wish Mr. Peanut Butter a speedy recovery from surgery! 🐷🐷

Happy 4th of July to all our pets and pet parents! A few helpful reminders:
1) fireworks can be scary for our furry family members, keep them inside and distracted
2) it’s a hot one today! Keep them cool and remember to hydrate frequently! 💦
3)Be sure to double check your fences and re-enforce any areas where your pet can escape.
4)make sure your pet is wearing a current ID tag
5)take a current picture of your pet just in case he/she goes missing
6)playing soft music can calm them and drown out the loud firework noise
7)if you are hosting a BBQ, provide guests with dog treats to avoid feeding our pets table scraps that can cause GI upset or pancreatitis! 😔🦴🐾

EXCITING NEWS!! We would like to introduce our newest veterinarian! Dr. Phillip Hairr will be taking appointments starting March 19th!
Dr. Hairr was born in San Antonio, Texas, but moved around quite a bit due to being a military kid (Air Force). He calls Colorado Springs, Colorado home because that is where his dad retired. This is where his veterinary journey began. Dr. Hairr obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. After completing undergrad, Dr. Hairr moved back to San Antonio and was introduced to shelter medicine at the Animal Defense League where he worked as a technician prior to getting into veterinary school. Dr. Hairr attended Midwestern University for veterinary school and graduated in 2022. Since then, he worked at the Arizona Humane Society as the mobile veterinarian for almost 2 years, where he traveled to different Native American reservations in Arizona to provide free veterinary care. This is something that he has always been passionate about, providing veterinary care for people with limited access. Dr. Hairr decided to move to Lake Havasu to help a new area of underserved animals. He hopes to help provide veterinary services to the people of Lake Havasu, but also the neighboring communities as well! When not at work, he loves spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter. Together, they love watching movies, going fishing, and of course, hitting the bowling alley!
