Our Mission: is to find loving homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs… to spay/neuter our rescued dogs to stop the cycle of unwanted litters… to assist in public education for the betterment of our local animal community… Maintain the highest standards of care for our dogs, including general and extensive veterinary care, assist with one-on-one training & behavioral needs… Provide housing, love, tenderness and compassion all dogs deserve. Truly giving them ‘A home along the way’, for as long as they need.
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is recognized federally as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose primary goal; is to place homeless dogs into loving, lifelong homes. Mackenzie’s is funded solely by private donations and fundraisers and does not receive any state, local or federal funding. Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is Michigan’s largest no-kill facility dedicated to providing ‘A home along the way’ for dogs in transition, founded in August of 1999.
**Please note that our facility is not open to the public and all visits to the sanctuary are by appointment only. We do not do “same day” adoptions.
