UPDATE: I have decided to NOT have the shoulder surgery. I'm working on getting everyone back onto their 10wk or less grooming schedule. I'm so thankful for all of you and how you let me know that you'd stay with me, even if it meant going elsewhere in the interim. After meeting with my surgeon last week, it became apparent that the recovery time (after the initial 6wks in a sling) would just be too long, especially considering that I'd be without income for that time.
For now, I'm fine with the changes I've made with using that arm. I look forward to seeing you all again soon π

Video of my own fur baby, Sophie, getting blow dried after a bath. I share this as an example of my drying process, as well as another example of why I can't groom larger dogs. This area is on top of my clothes dryer, otherwise I'd either have to blow dry in my kitchen with fur flying everywhere, or bend over on the floor π₯΄
Audio correction: overhead drying sleeve is to absorb "moisture," not "hair," to help with drying the head and ears.
Not going to identify this dog or owner, because I'm not here to shame anyone. But this is a good opportunity for me to show why dogs end up having to be shaved, regardless of the reason they couldn't get in sooner. Clips can be extended out longer, but it's very important to keep the mats brushed out so this doesn't have to be the result. There's also less chance of the dog being injured with a skip-tooth blade that has to be used to get under the mats.
*My apologies for the loud clippers that make it hard to hear what I'm saying. What I said was that I don't like using this blade because there's a risk of skin getting caught in those wide teeth, but look at how it had to be worked to get it under the mats. I alternated brushing and clipping to stay with the #5, but I did have to use the #7 loosely behind the ears.
