Last August our farm was destroyed by hurricane Idalia. Most of the damage still exist and a week ago we were hit by a tornado. It’s very discouraging to come home everyday to see how much work is still left for 1 guy to do. However, as I opened my back door to the porch I saw this beauty. It reminded me about love and how lucky we are to see such things among the chaos of our daily lives. To those of you feeling the way I did earlier I say this to you, look around and I promise you’ll see the beauty.

This big fella right here has had the dogs crazy all night. So glad to finally catch him. Although mostly harmless dog owners should be careful when handling them, they do carry leprosy and rabies.

Hurricane Idalia really traumatized us. You don’t know how desperate you can get until something as basic as water is taken from you. Now that our new Hand Pitcher Pump is installed at least I know my family and animals will have access to water from our land!

Just a few days of the girls being in the run and the predators are highly aware of their presence. We also had our yard dog run a fox away. I’m a huge fan and supporter of nature but don’t mess with my chicks 🙂

Buff Orpingtons hit the brooder! Grow baby grow! Over the next few months we will have fresh farm raised eggs. We will have Brown and Blue and Green eggs from some of our rarer breeds!
